Dan Binselan 4.0 out of 5 stars I installed these on a vstar 650. Not hard to install, if anything it's a fun project. I installed these on a vstar 650 classic. The reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars is because after one season one of the speakers stopped working and I contacted BOSS and after a lengthy detailed description and praising their product and asking for a speaker replacement, they didn't even have the decency to get back to me with a yes or a no.http://filippodelvita.com/demo/userfiles/bose-cinemate-series-ii-gs-manual.xml

So I returned them on amazon and bought another set, a bit annoyed with having to take em off and install new ones rather than just getting the one speaker replaced. The product description has a big writeup about what Bluetooth is and accurately states that the MC420B supports Bluetooth. Why would you have the product description for the model 420B on the 400 model. Makes no sense. Apart from that, this does work well, was relatively easy to install, has very decent volume and I am happy with it for what it is.I can hear my music while driving 115-120 with my beenie helmet on. It wasn’t too bad to install. Fairly simple. Only issue I had was, my handle bars are a little bigger around then the clamps. I had to squeeze them together with channel lock pliers. But I managed and they sound really good. Really happy with the amount of sound they produce. Glad I bought them. The adapters and foam for the brackets didn't quite fit my VStar. I had to modify the foam and make it work. Otherwise install was easy. Sound quality isnt too bad.It is loud! I was surprised by how loud it was. I have a modified exhaust, 2 of the 3 baffles from each exhaust has been removed. Basically my bike is so loud I always have to ride at the back in a group ride because no one wants to be behind me because I am too loud. Haven't had to turn the speakers up all the way. Left a bike show and had it turned up about half way,my buddy said he could hear it behind me(he was about 100-200 meter behind). All in all good for the money. The aux jack was giving my issues early on with crackling etc. Thankfully on the amp you can plug another one in. I can see by next season I will have to use it. Might be worth getting the bluetooth one for a few more bucks next time. All said I am pretty happy with it. I ran all the wires under the seat and the gas tank and put the amp in a small bag that I mounted inside my windshield (help keep it out of the weather). The volume control doesn't have a way to mount it.http://ecole-belair.com/ecole/bose-cinemate-series-ii-manual.xmlI was able to slide it in the bracket gap that mounts to the handle bars and tighten the clamp down. Keeps it in place and I can adjust it easily. Was worth the buy. Good value, decent speakers for the price. Basically budget speakers. Pretty happy with them.Cheap, quality, easy to install. I spent a lot of time looking at all the systems I could get for my bike, and this was by far the best bang for the buck. Go look at some youtube videos for them. I put a cellphone mount on my handlebars and just hook the line in to my phone when Im riding. I also ride with no windshield and I was still able to hear my music with the volume knob at about 30 percent going well over 100kmph. Easy to install, as I stuck the amp in the fork bag on the front of my bike, but there's enough wire to put the amp under the seat if you like. This was also my first install ever and I've got it working like a charm. The picture here shows mirror mounts, but I got mine shipped with handlebar mounts. Not sure if mistake or on purpose. Either way, I prefer the handlebar mounts.I have a clear windscreen and my bike is fairly quiet (ie stock pipes) but even at highway speeds I can hear the music clearly with a little more room on the dial to turn it up. I wanted something that had an input for my iPod and i wasn't interested in BluTooth so this was a good choice. The whole system is very small and I only had to supply a couple connectors to hook it up. It came with mirror mounts (which I didn't want) but after having them on the bike for almost a month, I like the way they sit and they don't move or bounce around. If you are an audiophile, you will find that the speakers are mostly top end and no bass. If you are an audiophile, you will already know that at this price point speakers of this size don't have a lot of bass.https://labroclub.ru/blog/3sfe-workshop-manual I would buy this again at this price point and I would recommend it for someone who wants to listen to tunes while riding but I will eventually swap out these speakers for something with more bass.I had no problems with install. Instructions were straight forward. It took less than an hour to complete. I jave them on a honda 750 shadow with very load pipes. At crusing speeds the music from my MP3 player no less. Very loud if i can hear it over my pipes u will have no problem..comes as advertised.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again The power wire (8 ft.) and volume control (5 ft.) is plenty long but the wire harness (3ft.I ride an '08 VTX1800N. The wire harness barely reaches the rear of the tank. You will have to buy handle bar mounts if you want the speakers on the bars. For a mirror mount on my VTX the speaker brackets do fit over the brake reservoir, but not the clutch.https://www.euralux.com/images/boss-audio-mc400-manual.pdf The quality of the speakers so far is impressive. I have played every thing from Skynyrd to Pantera to Louie Armstrong to Randy Travis. The quality of the out-put is much more dependent on the in-put quality than anything else. I read the reviews that said it only worked for a day or not at all, Well, I ride 25 min.I have factory exhaust and a windshield and it is defiantly loud enough. As much as I like it loud, I usually turn it down a notch in town. At 70 mph I can hear it just fine. There are not numbers on the volume control, but if off is zero and ten is up all the way( with good quality music ) you only need it at 3 on the highway. I have been careful to not max out the speakers, but they have been tested a time or two, some good songs start at full blast. Yet, no reduction in sound quality of crackling. The reason I didn't give a 5 star is.I just don't know how long they are going to last. I've only had these installed a week.Turn the volume down a little and it stops cutting out. Volume is plenty loud. I still use these every time I ride. Very, very, very happy with these!!! Additional update 40k miles, and 4yrs. Later.STILL BLASTING. Working and rocking down the highway. DAILEY USE! Cause I'm a daily rider.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again A lot of reviews that got back to me said it wouldn't have enough wire that I couldn't hear when I road my bike. I have a roadking with fish tail pipes with no baffles and I can still hear my stereo on my crash bars on the road. Love this stereoSorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I previously installed two different Pyle audio systems on my Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe. The sound was decent enough but the volume had a little to desire in high winds and at high speeds. The Pyle systems were prone to speakers cutting out with no visible degradation to the wiring. After much frustration with trying to enjoy music while riding, I purchased the BOSS Audio MC400 system.https://optimus.org.au/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c809a4f1c0---canon-d60-manual-english.pdf It was less than half the cost of the Pyle systems I had previously purchased. There is little installation help with the included material and I was baffled at first on where and how I would install the amplifier to my bike. That was easy with the Pyle systems. So, I went to the Internet to see what other users had done and it became incredibly simple. While the BOSS amp will not easily or conveniently mount to the bike, it will fit in a handlebar tool bag. Once I did that, the next challenge was how to secure the volume controller. I ended up zip-tying it to the mount of the right speaker.problem solved. The sound is great and the music is LOUD. Really loud. Other than the poor installation guide and mounting options, I am very satisfied.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again However like me with those as mines a road king they do work out very nice. I mounted speakers on the crash bars and mounted the unit inside the hard bags. The wiring should be easier to take apart from the convector as you have to if your going to run the wires under or through anything.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I should've returned them the second I noticed this to save me the trouble. They didn't last more than an hour without starting to pop and fail and then a week before they were completely dead aside from a noise that can only be described as robot sex. These speakers are absolute trash do not buy them. You get what you pay for but damn I expected nothing and was still disappointed.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Item description and pictures are misleading, but great customer service from Boss to remedy situation. Only issues was that I was expecting mirror mounts, like several other recent reviewers, as my Star Raider does not have much room on the handlebars to mount them.cgalgeria-dubai.com/userfiles/files/case-222-pto-clutch-manual.pdf The pictures, descriptions and other reviews that I had read made me expect to get speakers with mirror mounts, so I was a little surprised when I received the handlebar mounts. No need to sweat, though. The good news. The speaker wires can be easily removed from the connector using a micro sized straight slot screwdriver, so it is possible to take the wires our from the connector and then replace the existing handlebar mounts with the mirror mounts. The parts arrived 4 days later and I was able to switch out the handlebar mounts with the mirror mounts and take a sigh of relief.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again. I really hate when they say how easy something is to install and 8 hours later you are still trying to figure stuff out.not this speaker system. It was so easy even my wife was impressed with me. The mirror brackets for the speakers are flimsy and the wire is ran through the bracket already and you cannot feed the wire out of it. I made my own and cut off the factory ones. First ride with music was not great. Both speaker grill protectors fell out at 70mph. I found them and gorilla glued them in. Purchased speakers back in April but did not install on motorcycle until end of June. They were installed on a Kawasaki 1600 Vulcan Nomad. To cut down on the bulk of the install, I did not install the amp. The speakers work great without the amp. No problem hearing my favorite classic rock while riding at highway speeds even while wearing a full face helmet. Sorta curious how it would have sounded if I had installed the amp. I didn't install the amp to reduce clutter around the handlebars and I didn't want to limit the space in the saddlebags. This particular unit was just right. When purchasing, my only reservation was that my bike is super loud at idle and really really loud at 70mph. But after a successful installation, it worked out perfect. I added a in-line fuse and a toggle power switch which really made the system look like a professional install. I did have to extend the wires to the speakers in order to have the amp mounted under my seat and the speakers on the handle bars. I purchased some aftermarket handle bar brackets and hardware to mount. I'm very happy with the results. I also purchased the extended warranty for 5 bucks. To be honest, mounting took some time to get in the right spot and balanced with each other.
