bose built-invisible manualI bought a house with this system installed, sans receiver. Amplifier part number 172075 with the PN175461-03 3 room sound system. The speakers are ceiling mounted throughout the house with each room having their own individual volume control. I am trying to find out what receiver is compatible to put this unit together. Also, does Bose have their own audio cords or can I use any standard 3.5 mm RCA cord with it. Thank you to anyone who can offer up any information! Check out our Community Guidelines and How to use the Bose Community for helpful hints on getting started. And don't forget to check out our new and improved Community Ranks and Rewards !The equipment is located in a bedroom closet directly upstairs from the TV area in the living room. I guess my 2 main interests are finding out what receiver I can use with this (assuming that the Bose equipment is proprietary) as well as if I can use standard RCA cables with it. Thanks again for any info you can send! The hardware has this covered. You just need to input your chosen audio via RCA into the ports on the wall. You can use anything that supports this connection. Check out our Community Guidelines and How to use the Bose Community for helpful hints on getting started. And don't forget to check out our new and improved Community Ranks and Rewards !Would hate to spend a couple hundred on a used one to only find out it is incompatible. I assume I need a receiver as I ran some RCA lines from my cable box to the wall jack and from the jack to the TV. Got nothing. It's a whole new area for me so I'm not very schooled up on this sort of thing. It might not be an incompatibility between the source and the system. It may be that part of the chain is not working for example between the amp to the speaker. In order to identify this and due to the complexity of this case, we believe that giving one of our specialists a call would be the most efficient route. Please reach out to your local support.http://www.harasim.cz/uploaded/bosch-pst-53ae-manual.xml

Check out our Community Guidelines and How to use the Bose Community for helpful hints on getting started. And don't forget to check out our new and improved Community Ranks and Rewards !I called bose product support and they told me that the product is no longer supported because of how old it is. There must be some information out there. Same situation, I just bought a house, which is wired with this system. Can I remove the equipment and replace it with a more up-to-date version. Do I have the ability to use a receiver to plug into the amplifier? I would recommend reaching out to an installer in your location to seek support if you wish to make any changes. Check out our Community Guidelines and How to use the Bose Community for helpful hints on getting started. And don't forget to check out our new and improved Community Ranks and Rewards !I also have a similar situation where my wife and I recently bought a home that has a pre-installed Bose sound system, similar to the previous described systems, with a non-functioning lifestyle 20 receiver.I would be thrilled if I could just somehow connect the TV to the Bose sound system and get my sound from the TV through that system. However, the wall plate that the receiver previously plugged into has two 9 pin plugs one for zone 1 and one for zone 2. I’m afraid I’m not electronically savvy. Thank you for your time. All are wired to existing speakers or RCA speaker jacks at the home theater wall. I was able to get 5 of the 6 zones working, but had no luck with one zone and the home theater, which I could drive for a second, before it would cut out. At this point, I'm trying to prepare for my next visit there, so I can get the entire sytem up and running for her.http://ipm-sol.com/userfiles/bosch-psr-960-manual.xml I'd like to know which models are compatible with these Built-Invisible Amps. 2)There are 8 or 9 rca jacks in the home theater area, and I don't know which are inputs and which are outputs. I assume the present amps cannot receive RF signals directly. What's the lowest cost Bose equipment that would do the trick. Are there any universal remotes that could do the trick. Now I realize it has to be a little different. Any help I can get would be appreciated. If someone is in the Atlanta area, and familiar with Bose installations, I would be interested in hiring them to help me get this working. But if you are nice enough to snap photos of the connections maybe we can make sense of it. I guess that I don't have enough posts yet. More detail: Connections are wire slots with screws. I'm willing to see this through, and in the process perhaps help others. I'm retired with plenty of time on my hands. Can you put them in Photobucket so we can see them. It is free to use. So I though I'd ask you how your effort went and please help if you can with: 1. I can't seem to find the installation manual for the 172075. 2. Anything you might of learned would help also. Thanks.and I hope your efforts in helping your daughter worked out well. So I though I'd ask you how your effort went and please help if you can with: 1. I do not have any of the Bose head-end components but I did have the system working (only once) and it's surprisingly very very good. I have my own higher end system that I am using in the room so the Bose equipment is superfluous and the amp is virtually unused. Also incidentally, I have the front (wedge-shaped) and rear (almost flush-mount ceiling speakers) for the system, but they are installed in a ceiling. I would be willing to throw those in, in exchange for the cost of re-plastering and re-painting the ceiling -- so perhaps not worth it. Anyway, I thought I'd let you klnow that the pursuit of getting these systems running right is certainly worth the trouble, and I am rooting for you. Is the 102 amp simply a 6 channel amp. Can I just feed Room 1's audio into Input 1, Room 2's audio into Input 2, and Room 3's audio into Input 3? We're trying to centralize everything, but we want to make use of the MANY existing bose in-ceiling speakers (1.2 ohms?!?) and amplifiers if we can. I'd like to put in a Zektor matrix in front of the Bose amps. There's so much proprietary crap in this setup that I can't wrap my head around it.The SE-1 shows two cables plugging into a proprietary wall plate with proprietary cables, but doesn't show the back of the wall plate or where it goes or what it does. I'm confused.Plus, when you call into their tech support (which is usually very good) you may get multiple answers. The last time I worked with one of those old systems, I had to call in multiple times and each a different guy and each guy a different answer, but still got it worked out. I would just call their tech support and get the quick and dirty. They were recommending a changeover to the newer (also discontinued) Built-Invisible stuff. Not on my watch. jcmitchIn a past life, I supported that stuff. On October 15, 2009 at 12:30, jimstolz76 said. What? Ten rooms with only 3 BIV amps. Are you sure you found all of the amps. Are you describing the layout correctly? 3 surround and 7 rooms for a total of 10 rooms? I'll get back to that when you reply. On October 15, 2009 at 12:30, jimstolz76 said. Can I just feed Room 1's audio into Input 1, Room 2's audio into Input 2, and Room 3's audio into Input 3? Oops! I mean yes. See notes on second post. On October 15, 2009 at 12:30, jimstolz76 said. The SE-1 shows two cables plugging into a proprietary wall plate with proprietary cables, but doesn't show the back of the wall plate or where it goes or what it does. I'm confused. Depends on the contractor.Doesn't help with the confusion. It will take him a while to get used to but in the end he will like it better. Then I'm going to share any audio between the Bose stuff and the Zektor matrix and control it all with the RTI stuff he already ordered. We're redoing all his video, since his house was wired for composite video. Phase 2 may be completely revamping the audio system. What SUCKS is that the entire audio system works perfectly except for the old Bose RF remotes. As much as I want to rip it all out, he would have to trash EVERYTHING and totally start from scratch. I think it would be even worse to rip out a full multi-room audio system because the remote doesn't work.Input 1 goes to room 1, in 2 to out 2 and in 3 to out 3 but it is not that simple. Depending which version of the amp you have, if there is no signal going to in 3, out 3 will default to input 1 or 2. So if you have version I of the amp it out 3 will default to what is playing in in 1 and if you have version II of the amp out 3 will default to what is playing in in 2 or something like this. This is assuming you have both presets enabled. The presets allow you to share inputs to outputs, something to the effect of if you have preset one powered in 1 will play to out 1, 2, and 3 but in 2 will only play in out 2 and 3. It is very confusing but it made the amp very versatile. The long and the short of it is, out 3 will always play another source if in 3 is off, there is no way around this. So it is really only a true TWO zone amp with a third triggerable input. In my opinion they were a great bang for your buck multi-room solution. I installed tons of these amps and they are still working fine. If the remotes all stopped working it could be interference. We had a house where the remotes were inconsistent. They would work fine all over the house and suddenly the would stop working. We would get there and they would be working again. This went on for months until the homeowner was ramping the volume up and his son turned a remote control train in front of him and the remote stopped working. Turns out the kids remote used the same frequency as the Bose remote. It works great, I have used it many times. Good LuckWe had a house where the remotes were inconsistent. It works great, I have used it many times. Good Luck I should have clarified. By 'stopped working' I mean the backlights don't work, parts of the LCD don't work anymore, etc. They still function for the most part. He's already controlling 2 of the CD-20's with RTI remotes just through IR repeaters. Not sure how, but he's had it that way for a long time. Thanks a ton for the info. Then I'm going to share any audio between the Bose stuff and the Zektor matrix and control it all with the RTI stuff he already ordered. I think it would be even worse to rip out a full multi-room audio system because the remote doesn't work. Well It sound like you have a plan. Just wondering why you're keeping the SE-1 in the mix. If anyone else cares. (102ES) the connections look like this. (3 Room Amp) the connections look like this. The amps have four preset modes made with or without a jumper wire.Rooms 2 and 3 on 2, 1 will stay off. Room 1 on 1, 2 and 3 stay off. Rooms 2 and 3 on 2, 1 will stay off. Room 3 on 3, 1 and 2 stay off. All Presets. Input 1, 2, and 3 on. Room 1 input 1, Room 2 input 2, and Room 3 input 3.Just wondering why you're keeping the SE-1 in the mix. Well, because everything is functional right now. I'm just going to physically move everything and add a new control system in front of it. I don't have enough matrix outputs to feed the existing system and have it work the way it does right now. So I'm just going to split any audio that needs to go to all the CD-20's and the matrix and call it a day. (example: escient fireball can play through any surround sound and any TV speakers, plus it will be split to all three CD-20's so it's available at any DA speakers. The Bose system will continue to do it's own switching)The saddest thing about this is that the systems DO sound decent. It's too bad that Bose keeps modifying their absurdly proprietary platform while COMPLETELY abandoning their earlier efforts. They seem to be fine with leaving their previous customers with zero upgrade options other than complete replacement, and a nearly useless wiring topology to deal with when you do go that route. It sounds nice and I'm not ready to replace it yet. HOWEVER, I am having a problem that probably has a simple fix. No audio from the Lifestyle 20 CD changer until after operating for about 10 minutes or so. I then hear a relay click in the BUILT-INvisible power amp and then I hear audio. I'd appreciate your suggestions. Thanks, RoyOr, if you already have an account, please login now. I'm wondering if I can connect 5 Connects or Connect:AMPs to these wired speakers and rock and roll, there are 14 different sets of BOSE speakers running off of individual volume knobs in various rooms and outdoor spaces. I would hire a specialist, but we live in a small place and there is no one like that for over 100 miles. Any suggestions would be appreciated! You can use the search bar to find a similar topic, or create a new one by clicking Create Topic at the top of the page. The amps are only 55W at 8ohms.Some amps are designed to accommodate this, but most are not - I'd try to find a manual to make it's ok to go from speaker out on the Connect:Amp to the inputs on the Bose device. We'll send you an e-mail with instructions to reset your password.
