I installed this on a 2003 Tahoe that already had a JVC unit in it. Here’s my thoughts: Pros: -Overall, seems pretty good quality -Bluetooth mic speaker built in so no need to buy an additional one -Pretty clear wiring instructions -Backup camera is pretty clear and works well Cons: -Touch screen takes getting used to. This wire is the signal wire that tells the radio to switch to the camera when you put the vehicle in reverse. This violet wire connects to red wire that comes out of the RCA plug that plugs into the back of the radio. The other end of the RCA cable goes the camera and that red wire taps into the positive side of your reverse light bulb. Conclusion - Well this isn’t a top tier radio, it doesn’t cost a whole lot. My main reason for the upgrade was for hands free calling, Bluetooth streaming and a backup camera which this radio does them all.I purchased the BVB9358RC, and was disappointed the the radio tuner did NOT have RDS (Radio Data System that allows the radio station to display the song title, artist, etc). Be careful when ordering so you know exactly what features you're getting. The video cable to the backup camera is fairly short, and I needed an extension to get it to reach the license plate on my Nissan Frontier compact pickup truck. Phone quality is good for the driver, but there is a hum and the volume isn't that great for the person on the other end of the call. Again, for the price, you can't expect perfection. Instructions for the wiring so that the DVD player would work with the parking brake on were mis-leading. It indicated that the wire from the radio be connected to the hot wire from the parking brake light on the dash.https://skazkina.com/ru/4-h-horse-project-manual After wrestling with finding that and tapping into it, it turns out that a relay is needed to provide GROUND to that wire when the parking brake is on. Probably not recommended, but it works. Brightness needs to be adjusted manually at night time, but there is a setting to turn off the screen totally after 10, 20, or 30 seconds, so I may give that a try. Installation wasn't too bad. Definitely purchase the harness specific to your vehicle rather than trying to solder or tap into the vehicle's factory harness. No way to stretch it and it make it work as I was already taking the shortest path possible. Absolutely unacceptable.Installed this with a Scosche wiring harness, specific to my 2008 Scion XB. Also used a dash kit as this unit is square and my dash is a bit rounded. Have not installed the backup camera yet, as that looks like a fairly major project for warmer weather. The good: Install took about an hour. Harnesses snapped together and all connections working properly. My car antenna is round, and fit very snugly into the back of the unit. Sound is good, and much louder than my (factory) speaker can handle. Radio has better reception than my indoor stereo. Bluetooth paired without a problem. DVD and CD audio verified as working. EQ options were fine, with a 7 band graphic EQ--not sure what so many people are complaining about with this, as it's pretty standard stuff. Bass on left, midrange in the middle, treble on right. The factory EQ presets are pretty standard, and the 'User' preset allows for your own preferred EQ settings. I had about 250 folders initially, and pared it down to 15 as there wasn't a way to access more than 25 folders. Overall: GREAT budget unit. Easiest install I've done so far--thanks in part to the thoughtful layout from Scion. Would probably sound awesome with a preamp and subwoofers--sounds really good (and loud) on my factory speakers. Assuming this lasts a few years, it'll be a good investment.Didn’t fit well on the install.http://arma-tek.com/images/boss-car-dvd-player-manual.pdf The RCA outputs on the back are hard mounted to the back of the unit instead of soft wires. So when I plugged my cables in they interfered gave me a clearance issue. Any way that’s not the worst of it. The volume knob. first time you turn it, it’s like you just woke it up. It does nothing. Then when your turn it again it take about 2 sec before it respond. So you turn the volume up and nothing happens but the screen says it has turned it up. Then 2 sec later the volume goes up. Same problem in the volume down too. So your driving along and try to turn the volume up and nothing happens. Then you try again and finally by that time it responds it’s almost full volume and blasting way too loud. So you quickly try to turn it down and nothing!!! So you try again and finally it turns down so far it’s off. It’s quite annoying. The touch screen isn’t much better. It’s sluggish and slow and takes a couple of seconds to respond to inputs. Does it work. Sure. will I be buying something else. Most likely. I will return it and pay a little extra for something higher quality.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again From day one it was junk. Bluetooth feature works sometimes, most times it just cuts out or becomes very static. The USB port never worked, still to this day it just says loading error. The touch screen is ok at best. Most times you have to touch the screen twice or three times to get it to respond, even the actual buttons need to be pressed twice. It has options to download contacts from your phone but that also has never worked. Blue tooth calling works but I’ve been told it’s very hard to hear me on the other end of the call. Sometimes the unit will just shut off while listening to music. Aux seems to work as it should. I bought three units all within the same price range and this was by far the worst one. The 60 dollar android unit performed much better and I would recommend that way before this piece of crap.https://cffcommunications.nl/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1/1626d8885e79a1---3m-thermofax-repair-manual.pdf Don’t waste your money on this over priced head unit.Sorry, we failed to record your vote.
