Audrey Frances 5.0 out of 5 stars I wanted to have more control over my tone and the built in seven band EQ on my amp was capable of only doing so much to mold the final product with the other pedals involved.http://riolisboa.com/images/ul_files/HGUfmlhxF8ZO.xml While I was looking for a compression pedal, I wanted to sift through choices with certain criteria, products made by the brands I already had experience with that are made available at reasonable prices. I didn't find a hell of a lot with a budget involved over multiple websites and at local stores in my area. I didn't consider an equalizer at first, but after reading other reviews and listening to other bassist's testimonies, I realized that this was what I was really looking for. As shown in the attached picture, I placed the GEB-7 as the third pedal, after the Vox and Dunlop, and before the other Boss and the green fuzz. I wanted to intercept the signal sent out by the last two so I could narrow down the frequencies to find my sound. I run this pedal board into a Peavey TKO-115 combo amp, so I am not working with a huge rig. This kind of setup is perfect for me, and I highly recommend this pedal for anyone else in a similar situation that wants the option of more tone control.Messing with the sliders a bit gets a sound not native to the bass and amp. With the added volume level boosti g it a couple dbs too. As an always on pedal paired with a compressor makes me sound stronger and tough. Good Boss quality and Ichigo are good dealers. Completely happy with my purchase. We have a large church and my bass runs through a gigantic sound board. This pedal really helped to fine tune my specific bass, since we have 2 other guys that play their own basses. So easy to adjust and every little adjustment makes a big difference. Haven't had any negative issues at all. This is the first pedal I bought and I'm glad I did. There are a lot of settings and uses for it. If you play blues or reggae you can get deep and strong sounds by lowering the mids and you will love this thing. There are some special settings if you are into slapping and such.http://schlammatlas.de/en/node/16221 I study a little bit of sound theory and this pedal works awesome to create a natural distortion, just increase the mids and level knobs all the way and put all the gain in your amp, it will create a nice tone special for metal, crust and alternative music that need a violent bass. Just be careful and keep a low volume if your amp is not that strong you can damage it. Best thing ever. PeriodSuperb dependability. BOSS is the BOSS !Get a Boss cable and be done with it!The only downside is that it needs to have a cover for the sliders so you can protect your settings - Boss - get on it with something aftermarket that clips over the sliders please.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. I chose this equalizer after reading opinions on forums. I was looking for a affordable, simple yet effective equalizer, with a good build quality. The GE-7 proved really effective at the task. Basically I use it only to make my tone sit nicely in the mix on rehearsals or gigs. I don't use it at home, because what I'm trying to do is to sound as good as home in a band context. I don't use it to create special sounds or to make my amp sound like another one, though it can certainly do that. I would strongly recommend this unit to any guitarist playing in a band, especially if there are other midrange focused instruments.www.highlandmetals.co.za/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c8327b38b2---95-f150-haynes-manual.pdf What works for me is: cut off 100HZ, slightly cut 200HZ, slightly boost 400HZ, slightly cut 800HZ, slightly boost 1KHZ, 3.2KHZ at unity or slightly below, 6,4HZ is basically the presence, so I adjust it depending on the amp and the context. Building quality is what you expect from Boss. Worth mentionning I didn't notice any coloration from the buffered bypass when the pedal is off. Send report Total sound quality features handling an absolute must-have NEJC, 07.02.2016 Not many guitarists realize how significant an eq can be. But once you start using one, it al becomes clear. I bought mine to use with my fender telecaster standard usa. I felt the guitar needed some more low end and high tones trimming. And when this pedal came in it did exactly that with top grades. There really isn't much to it, you just plug it in, set the equalizer to a desired level and that's it. I like that it's simple. What i dont like is that these meters are extremely sensitive. You need to move the knob for like a smallest amount possible and the result is already very noticeable, so in some cases its quiet difficult to find and then keep this setting, especially if you use it for live shows. Just a touch of some cables on top of an eq can change its character drastically, so i advise some caution and second check after transporting it. Other than that, this pedal works superbly, and i cant play without it. Send report Total sound quality features handling Great Pedal Universally Used KMickP, 25.03.2020 Many boards have this pedal and there is a reason for that, it’s compact, sounds great and can be used as a boost to push valve amps to their sweet spot as well as shaping the tone. I am a guitar player and I had one of these 20 years ago when I was gigging in lots of different rooms so this pedal is great for adjusting your tone depending on the acoustics of the gig. Also great for solo boosts and pushing the frequencies to get you heard without deafening your band members.12shio.com/contents//files/case-350-parts-manual.pdf A must have in my view and it’s great value. Send report Total sound quality features handling Boss GE-7 is an essential part of any guitar players pedal board HenryJay, 28.09.2014 Many guitar players may not realize that a graphic equalizer is an absolute must. The guitars, preamps, speakers, cabinets and effects all distort the tone of your sound in their own way. GE-7 helps you with your final touches. With a few tweaks you can make your sound stand out just right. Just bear in mind that you get the best result by weakening the unwanted frequencies - not the other way around. In other words do not start by boosting any frequency, that's really your last resort and adds unwanted hiss. When the sound is right, you can then boost the volume, if necessary. So GE-7 is a booster as well. I am using two GE-7 units, because otherwise I would need to change the settings for every sound change. Ge-7 has well chosen frequency bands for your adjustment. The Pro mod is designed to improve clarity and lower the noise issues that the stock GE-7's have. This is accomplished by upgrading the chips and tone capacitors. We replace the cheap stock tone capacitors with high quality film capacitors like we use in the rest of our effects. This improves the overall clarity of the pedal. VOLTAGE: The stock GE-7 can not be run over 15V. We modify it so it will run fine on 18V, which will give even more clarity and headroom to the pedal. The stock GE-7 can add some noise if you move Even bringing the two lowest sliders DOWN will add noise, try it. Our mod replaces three chips with the King of Tone chip, which is a low noise These chips take about 40 more power (pedal goes from 16mA to 23mA), so a battery will not last as long, better to use a power supply. A normal alkaline battery will still last over 15 hours, so you can use batteries if you want.https://opalsolar.com.au/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c83305ff83---95-f150-manual-transmission-for-sale.pdf We also Thanks to the people on the We used their ideas We can modify New for 2012, GEB-7 Bass version mods. It’s 100 silent and has great headroom while using 18V. Works great for the DG stuff, after a Tube Driver or Cornish pedals. Thanks Mike. Was this review helpful to you? It is easy to dial in. Also very quiet and totally invisible when not engaged. No tone suck at all. Was this review helpful to you? The only way I can describe the difference is Analogman nailed it with this mod. I ordered the modded version after struggling with this pedal for over a year. The Analogman mod unlocks the potential of this pedal. If you don't have this pedal on your board, you should. Different rooms and different studios will make your guitar, your amp, your pedals, even your entire signal path sound differently. The GE-7 - with the Analogman mod - allows you tweak your sound to the room or studio's acoustics and truly shine. Worth every penny and then some. Nice work, Analogman. I'm very grateful for what you've brought to my sound. Was this review helpful to you? Money well spent. Was this review helpful to you? Deterioration of the output level below 0 cut the brilliance and the high frequencies. Crackle on the 1st to 5th fret of E and A string and on the entire G string.
