That way I could run my acoustic guitar to my acoustic amp or my electric guitar to my electric amp but still use the same effects. All I had to do was click two pedals and I was ready to go. I don't like the idea of having to rely on batteries only, I don't know what they didn't put a power jack on this. Alex Wright 3.0 out of 5 stars I have it the latter way, so I can switch between bass guitars without having to unplug a cable (I'm happy to admit I'm lazy!). Unfortunately for me, it only takes 2 AAA batteries (I personally think this is a bad design by boss) which, considering I have an extensive pedalboard with plenty of power, seemed like a wasted opportunity. So if you do want to get good use out of this, make sure you know what else is required before getting it. Unless you have an endless supply of AAAs.I wanted to record and loop and acoustic track then pick up my electric guitar and record some more tracks with that. The problem I had was that the Boss RC-300 has only got one instrument input so I searched for a solution and this pedal was the answer. You can use this pedal two ways, you can have 2 guitars with one amp or 2 amps with 1 guitar. Please try again It works great, virtually silent switching. I just wonder why there is no power adapter so I could permanently install this thing into my pedal board. On a similar theme, if I have to change the batteries periodically, it should be a convenient process. I think it unfortunate therefore that I have to carry with me a small screwdriver to gain access to the battery compartment. Small niggles, I'll grant you, but worth mentioning I feel.
