I've had a look through the service manual but there's no tests that can be done without specialised equipment. The service manual only suggests a motor fault, wiring fault, pcb fault or door fault for the problem you are having. The manual refers to a start led. Is this the flashing red dot you refer to earlier.If the start button has an led, is it flashing or steady. This is flashing prior to pushing the start button, but once pressed the light is continuous. The flashing light which I refer to is on the display screen. This leaves the control board, motor and the wiring as the possible causes of the fault We can try accessing the test mode to try and narrow it down further. Set the programmer and timer knobs to the 12 o'clock position. Press and hold together the start and delicate buttons. Whilst holding them, switch on. The start led will flash rapidly to indicate test mode. Let go of the buttons. You may have an error code displayed. If you do, let me know before continuing. Press start and let the appliance run it's test. Let me know what happens. The motor should run amongst the tests. If nothing has happened at all it would suggest the main board is at fault. Click here for the main board (Double check before ordering that this board is for your appliance using the full E-Nr number and possibly the FD number). Given the price of the board I would suggest getting a price for repair from www.repaircare.co.uk Their price includes parts and labour. You'll be better placed to decide on repair or replacement once you know the cost of the part or repair. The main board is the suspect here as it didn't run the test when selected and is also on the list of probable causes in the service manual. When the test programme was selected it should have run the water pump, the drum motor and checked a few components. If the door lock is faulty, the start button should remain flashing. On the vented dryer the motor, heater and temperature sensor are checked on the test programme (no pump). As you had nothing tested, it suggests the pcb is at fault.
