Many Christians living in the united states of America believe in following the law. But is it more important to follow man's law than Christ's law? Most Christians will agree that following Christ's law is more important. After all, that is what makes Christians Christian. This become even more important when we learn that the law of man that we are following does not apply to human beings
So if Christians believe it is more important to follow Christ's law, why do so many follow the law of men even when those same men do not have jurisdiction over those Christians wihtout the Christians consent.
We have all been there. It is through an act of deception that we find ourselves foresaking Christ. But most people do not comprehend what Christ was talking about. Even many pastors and preachers do not comprehend what Jesus was talking about when he said and it was reported in Matthew 5:33-37,
33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ 34 But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
Human beings are born with natural rights granted by God. No one, not even any government can infringe on those rights. For centuries this has been the way it is. Even when Jesus was facing making the ultimate sacrifice it was the same as it is today. The government, lords and courts have obtained jursidiction (which means oath spoken) by having the human being swear an oath thus giving up his freedom and subjecting himself to those seeking power over the human being. Once the oath was sworn, jurisdiction was granted and those seeking authority could proceed with whatever they wanted to.
The reason that Jesus remained quiet when Isreal tried to question him was Isreal was, at the time, much like England and other European societies. They were a fuedal state. That means they had kings, landlords and tenant farmers to farm the land. Tenant farmers had to swear an oath for life to the landlords. When Jesus started spouting off about not swearing an oath, "do not swear an oath at all", in a land that depended on them, this caused alarm for those land owners (lords).
So the elites in Isreal brought Jesus up on bogus charges of sedition by taking something he said out of context. The judge even tried to trick Jesus into answering when he said "I adjure you in the name of the Living God, are you the man?" Jesus put it right back on him when He said, "You have so said." This was to make it obvious that the judge had said, not Jesus. So since the judge could not get jurisdiction (oath spoken) over Jesus, and Rome occupied Isreal at the time, he sent him to the Romans for prosecution.
Pontius Pilate knew the charges were bogus and based on politics. He knew the eltitist in Isreal were just worried about not having anyone take the oath to them so they would have others farm their land for nothing more than subsistence. Pontius Pilate could protect Jesus, but only Roman subjects could be protected by Rome. So Pontius Pilate had to get Jesus to swear an oath to Caesar to be able to protect him. So he administered the oath to Jesus, but Jesus still remained silent. Pontius Pilate could not get jurisdiction over Jesus.
When Roman officials extended law to those not subject to Roman law, they were committing an unclean act, because anyone who had not taken the oath to Caesar was considered to be the "great unwashed masses". So the officials were to perform a symbolic jesture to cleanse themselves by washing their hands. That was the reason Pontius Pilate washed his hands. It was Jewish law that allowed a mob to choose who would be set free. So even though Pontius Pilate did not have jurisdiction, he still asserted Jewish law with Roiman on someone who was not a subject of Rome. Thus the washing of the hands to cleanse himself. Seems like a simple task for the commision of murder.
So how does this affect me today?
When an American signs a tax return form, he is testifying "under penalties of perjury" that he is a federal officer. How do we know this? A federal officer is required to take the oath of office before he can sit in that office. The US Constitution permits the federal government to have "exclusive jurisdiction" over its territory which only includes Washington DC, federal enclaves in the several states that cede part of their territory, or other territories obtained like Puerto Rico and Guam. But to have "jurisdiction", which means "oath spoken", federal government must have subjects take an oath. Since jurisdiction means oath spoken, one would have to speak an oath. This would limit federal jurisdiction to those having sworn the oath. Who takes the oath? Congressmen, senators the president and others who take federal office. Most federal employees don't even take the oath, but federal officers all do.
Many church leaders claim that Jesus was not talking about swearing "lawful" oaths. He only meant "unlawful" oaths. Read what Jesus said. "34 But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King." Nothing in this statemnet would indicate anything other than don't take any oath. To make sure we understood that we were not to swear any kind of oath further saying, "36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one." Now there is no reason to believe that Jesus was saying it is okay to swear a lawful oath buit not an unlawful oath. He did not want us to grant jurisdiction to anyone, but rahter he wanted us to remain free. This is why a court will swear in witnesses before their testimony. The court does not have jurisdiction until that human swears an oath. Adding the words "so help me God" does not make the oath a legal oath in the eyes of God. Like Jesus said, "either by heaven, for it is God's throne,". Adding the words, so help me God was done to to fool Christians, still the largest single group in America today, into thinking it was okay to break Jesus's law.
So if we look at the income tax return form to see what you are signing, we find evidence of this by the very statement. "under penalties of perjury". Well, only those who have sworn an oath can be prosecuted for perjury. Those of us who have a modicum of knowledge of the US Constitution know that we can only be prosecuted once for each offense committed. So why would we be signing "under penalties of perjury". Because the rest of the Constitution does not apply in federal territory, those subject to the federal government can be prosecuted twice for one offense.
However, since you are signing the form "under penalties of perjury" you have committed perjury by just signing the form. Naturally, one would have to show that you had knowledge of this fact, since all contracts require they be signed voluntarily, which you did, and knowingly, which you before now did not do.
So how do I rectify this?
To rectify the swearing of an oath to be true to Jesus's word, simply stop signing income tax forms. After all, until you made yourself subject to the federal government's jurisdiction, you were not and can remove yourself from the federal government's jurisdiction. You might even write a letter to the IRS commissioner and the Treasuery Department to let them know of your mistake. You did not know what the fine print you were signing meant, and apologize for having made that mistake. Explain that you have not taken the oath of office and that you do not plan to and will not make that mistake again.
Now that you know the what, let's take a look at who is behind the facade.
