That is my experience. Others may not have any issue whatsoever. This was ordered for a Bose V20 surround sound unit. Hope this review is helpful.Better than other systems I have tried in the past. No sound cut outs.We moved into a rental house not pre-wired for surround, and this saved me from trying to fish wires through walls and into the attic. The bonus is they perform flawlessly and I can't notice any difference between when I used wires or this system. They were easy to install right out of the box. The only downside is the price- but at least they are a Bose quality product. Our new home we did not build so there was no wires in place to hook up our rear speakers to our Bose Lifestyle 35 System and in order to get the rear speakers hooked up it was going to require going over 3 doors and a fireplace with speaker wire. Now it could have been done but I am someone who just doesn't like to see wires where there shouldn't be wires. As I was considering going under the house to fish wires into the walls I remembered a email I received a couple of years ago from Bose talking about this new way to hook up your rear surround speakers with out having to run wires from the front of the room to the back. So I went to there website and saw the SL2 wireless surround link. This thing works great and is SO EASY to install. The transmitter and its receiver are 16' apart and there is no problem at all with them communicating with each other. I can't even tell that it's not hard wired because the sound quality is the same as in my previous house.http://www.predoisiasociatii.ro/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c53ff35299---canon-a1-manual-battery.pdf I can't express enough how thankful I am that I remembered that Bose made this product. It truly saved me a lot of work. The assembly was a breeze. I love the fact you can hide the transmitter and receiver out of sight and they still work. I live in an apartment and it is perfect for that. I didn't have to run speaker cables across my living room floor.Only downside, is venders that have them are aware of this and over charge for them and for this reason I purchased two sets as back ups.I am using an Acoustimass system. THIS add-on system was the total solution to my problem. No construction or structural alterations necessary. Sound quality is exactly the same as when the rear channels were hard wired. I highly reccomend this to anyone in a similar situation. Choosing positions for your SL2 transmitter and receiver Radio frequency transmissions make this product easy to plac e. It is seldom ne cessary to point the SL2 t ransmitter at its receiver. It enables you to have rear surround speakers for your home theater system without having to run unsightly wires from your main system to the surround speakers. The SL2 system consists of a transmitter and a receiver and is designed to work with 5.1 surround Bose Lifestyle and Acoustimass systems. In this case however you are just connecting the wires up to the transmitter which is located right next to your primary Bose system. Your rear surround speakers plug into the receiver unit directly and you can set them up anywhere within about a thirty foot distance from the transmitter. The AL8 wireless solution operates in the 5.8GHZ band which means you could have a cordless phone in that range that might interfere but the Bose design seeks to minimize any potential interference to keep the sound pure without pops or hissing. The transmitter and receiver must plug in to a wall outlet, speaker wire is required to connect the transmitter to your system, and speaker wire is required to connect your rear speakers to the receiver. All of the connections are color coded which makes setup painless. The SL2 is one of, if not the best, wireless rear speaker solutions you will find in terms of performance. The only downside is that it requires a Bose system so you’ll have to look elsewhere if your home theater setup is not Bose.chooset.com/galeria/files/casio-ctk-731-keyboard-manual.pdf Click here for more information on the types of cookies we use and how to change your cookie settings. I think it's a TX-828thx. I know it's old, but darn it I still like the sound that comes out of it. (I have the cable input to use a DVD player with audio decodeing to send the processed surrount to the 5.1 setup and just let the Onkyo do it's AMP work) And that heavy beast is a nice AMP. 1. Should I use Bose speakers. I ordered on ebay (BOSE Accoustimass 15 Home Theater Speaker System) with the intention to use the cubes for two rear setups. One in an office and another in a den. Look the cubes are small and cute. People like to look at em.Ohm's and that it might be possible to blow your receiver by using them. I don't want a lifestyle system and don't care about em' 2. How do I connect the SL2 to the rear outputs of my receiver. Do I use the receiver outputs that are amplifiied or use the pre-amp outputs that are unamplified. I get the fact that the Bose plugs use RCA. I forget) I have the SL2's on the floor behind me.It's a passive sub right? (it's not here yet. will see it in about a week) How do I use it. Do I use it? What is it good for. How would one want to use it with a non-bose receiver? (could you plug it into the sub output.Any help for a confused fella would be apprecated. It is hard to help you if we don't have the same equipment. There's the rocketfish (a 2.4ghz model) and I've seen another 5.x GHZ model on ebay but couldnt' find out much about it. I'm really just interested in using the Bose SL2 for Rear speakers. My guess is that they will work best with BOSE speakers. (I've read on sites that the BOSE speakers are custom and not like other speakers and could blow your receiver) Maybe I'm crazy but I just wanted an RF transmitter that wasn't in the 2.4 or 900mhz specrtum to carry audio to the rear's. I like my receiver so I don't want to mess it up. The A 15 system has some sort of powered Sub that I plan to use to run the rear audio. It seems to have been designed to work with non bose receivers and that's why I picked it up. (I'll only plug in the rear's and maybe I'll test the sub input but I have no plans to use any of the other bose speakers from it) I'll then run the outputs from the A 15 to the SL2 transmitter using the supplied cable and then run the cables from the Rear speakers to the SL2 receiver unit. This way I'm safe I guess. I would love to know from someone smarter then me if the SL2 or Bose speakers themselves are diffrent and how. Just to avoid damageing good equipment using Bose stuff for any reason. I'm going to have a Center, and a left and right Bose speaker from the A 15 that I would like to find some sort of use from.If I wire up the rears and sub output's from my receiver. As for small speaker recommendations I would love to hear some. How about a RF transmitter for Rear speakers in the 5.x spectrum? It will work with your Acoustimass 15 just fine. Keep in mind if you go with a non-Bose system however. The wireless receiver is what is powering your rear speakers and it doesn't put out a lot of power. As for quality of transmission I have not had any problems with the SL-2 and I have plenty of experience with it. Keep in mind this is only with Bose speakers however. I have never had the need to connect an SL-2 to a non Bose system. And by quality of transmission I mean that there have been no cut-outs or transmission problems. Sound quality is a different matter. Just keep in mind Bose is great for small speakers and they do work, you can just find better sound at the same or cheaper price. I would stay away from the Acoustimass systems unless you already own it. The AM module on the 15 does not power your rear speakers. It is not just a sub but also handles a lot of the mid-range. (or at least tries to) The reason your receiver connects to the AM module first is because it has its own internal crossover and also needs more information than just a Sub pre-out provides. From there is sends out the signal and power to your speakers. Bose claims this will keep you from ever blowing your speakers because the AM module will only pass a certain level of power. I hope that helps you, but in the end, if you like the sound of the AM 15 more power too you and enjoy it. Vehll P.S. I don't claim to know everything about Bose, but I did work for them for quite some time and still know many people who do and I talk to them on a weekly basis. It is not just a sub but also handles a lot of the mid-range. (or at least tries to) The reason your receiver connects to the AM module first is because it has its own internal crossover and also needs more information than just a Sub pre-out provides. From there is sends out the signal and power to your speakers. Bose claims this will keep you from ever blowing your speakers because the AM module will only pass a certain level of power.Thank you D M What is your overall plan for speaker layout and use. Vehll The max I want to go is 6:1 do to room layout or with the Bose module I guess you can call it 6:2. Will eventually switch to all 800's for surround. On the cable you might as well use the ones marks rear left, rear right, and just plain center. Now you connect your Bose speaker cables from the speakers into your bass module under the rear left, rear right, and center inputs. If you are looking at doing wireless you will need 2 of the SL2's because they only have 2 channels. If you are just hard wiring no problem. Now you may or may not like the effect you get from having both a Sub and a Bose AM module. The reason for that is the AM module is not just a Sub, but a midrange speaker as well. Now all that being said Bose has clients that do exactly what you are attempting and like it just fine, it is just personal preference. One other note is that you could just connect the Bose speakers directly to your receiver and see how you like that. Bose will tell you that they will blow if you do that, but plenty of people have with no problems. The good news is that Bose is great on customer service in their stores. If you do happen to blow just a speaker they will swap it our in the store for you no problem. Hope that answered your questions, let me know if there is anything else I can try to answer. Vehll If the room was bigger I would have done it. However. I think I might use the spare cubes I have around for another pourpose. I have more then one set of speaker outputs. A and B. for Multi-Room Sound. So maybe I might use the SL2 to trasmit audio bypass left and right to another room or two for music playing. (hey if it's clear it don't need to be loud. But what About just plugging the audio output from my receiver's pre-amp outputs. Any reason I would need to send amplified audio to the transmitter of the SL2 in the 1st place. My Receiver has RCA plugs for the pre amp outputs. That might be another way to use em.Again I just want to comment that when not doing something professional but just application driven those little Bose speakers are cute when they are on that floor stand. (BTY I didn't pay anything close to retail for this stuff. If some kids want to play Rock Band it's going to do the job ok. The SL2 as an amp to drive speakrs may be under powered. The real Question that I would love to be covered is if Boses RF transmitter is better then alternatives. If anyone has some data or exp countering the SL2 as a better device for RF please comment. Vehll: as you can talk to the Bose people maybe you can ask what they think of the SL2 and wireless audio in general. What did they do better with the SL2 then was on the market. While Bose may not sound the best they certainly know how to fake good sound for the ave-joe. They know their game very well. Thanks again to those that posted. I could make some adjustments with the receiver to deal with it if I wanted. Still no bites on talking about RF transmitters for wireless (or less wires) rear speakers. Plan to upgrade the receiver to an Onkyo TH-NR3007 receiver in the near future to remove some scalers and clean up the wireing. Don't see the speaker layout changeing much in the near future. When playing a CD movie the sound only comes from.
