Proprietary Bose innovations use microphones both inside and outside each earcup to sense and reduce the sounds around you. TriPort acoustic headphone structure, another Bose exclusive, features tiny vents in the earcups to enable a tonally-balanced audio performance-including reproduction of deep, low notes-from relatively small and lightweight headphones. Active equalization electronically tunes the headphones' frequency response, enabling outstanding audio performance. Interchangeable audio cables, one for general use, and one just for select Apple products, offer greater convenience than permanently connected Y-cables. The inline remote puts control right at your fingertips Inline microphone allows for hands-free iPhone conversation and access to certain voice applications, such as VoiceOver and Voice Control, in other Apple products. Inline three-button remote switches between calls and music, and controls volume, track selection and voice applications on select Apple products. Advanced ear cushions use new materials in a proprietary design to establish a critical acoustical seal-helping to further reduce noise while providing a comfortable fit. Fold-flat earcups rotate 90 degrees for easy storage and portability in the included case. Slim carrying case helps protect headphones and accessories during travel. Apple cable compatibility The QuietComfort 15 inline remote and microphone cable is compatible with iPod nano (4th, 5th and 6th generation), iPod classic (120GB, 160GB only), iPod touch (2nd, 3rd and 4th generation), iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad and iPad 2, and Macbook (unibody) and Macbook Pro. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation). Audio is supported by all iPod models. Bose quality sound reveals nuances in your music you might have missed. And the soft-cushioned headphones stay comfortable for hours. Earcups fold flat for easy storage in included case. Kalikiano Kalei 3.0 out of 5 stars As regards the sound quality, no argument that BOSE noise cancelling technology works extremely well, However, this past evening, when I was putting them on to listen to some much anticipated Yuja Wang interpretations of Rachmaninoff, the right sided load-bearing earphone support simply fractured and broke off cleanly (the plastic material snapped). The break is completely unrepairable, given the tension force that the earphone is subject to (i.e. it's not simply a matter of supergluing the broken earphone support back in place). Clearly, metal would have been wiser and far more durable choice than plastic for the important load-bearing assembly of the headband. Although the Quiet Comfort 15 model is now discontinued by BOSE, I would suggest that any potential purchasers of the unit (which is still available for sale on Amazon and other retail venues) consider this when they think about buying this model. Given the highly touted reputation BOSE claims for its products (along with their high cost), this sort of occurrence is not supportive evidence of those claims. This is to help with portability and to give them a light seamless feel when you’re wearing them.https://cffcommunications.nl/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1/1626c46bfb3a95---compaq-presario-b3800-service-manual.pdf These headphones don’t fold in like my Audio Technicians but, will swivel 90 degrees and fit into the case made for them. This leaves for a larger footprint. The cable from your headphones to your audio source is proprietary and while sometimes the word proprietary is frowned upon, you’ll be happy to know you can actually replace the cable just as easy headband and ear cups. Links for those replacements are down below. There is a switch on the cable that controls the loudness of volume. It has nothing to do with noise cancellation at all. He plugs into headphones and will lock into place. NOTE: When removing the cable from the headset DO NOT pull on the cable itself you will shorten the life of that cable or possibly ruin it if you do it too many times. The notch here is where you’ll remove the cable.NOTE: If the green LED light is flashing that means the AAA battery needs to be replaced. Which can be found on the right earphone toward the top. QuietComfort 15s produce a sense of pressure on the eardrum. Listeners sensitive to this effect may find it anywhere from mildly annoying to uncomfortable. Most of the former group will tend to forget about it as soon they start playing music or movies. The noise cancellation performs best with Low type sounds such as: air plane engines, ac units running, subway noise etc. You will be able to hear people around but, they will be muffled. Best way I can describe it to you is when you’re underwater listening to the sound above the water. MUFFLED or Dampened Sound Quality, I always test headphones with all type of genres of music, movies, and playback for my recordings on my channel here. The sound coming from these cans are good. Bass, is well balanced with while the mids and highs will perform fine however, sound a little thin. They distort if you turn the volume above 80 or higher from my experience. Sweet spot for me was to have the volume level around 65-70. That would sound come through clearly without distortion.BACSIHA.COM/public/ckfinder/userfiles/files/casio-edifice-efa-118d-1avef-manual.pdf Sound leakage: Leakage is minimal if you’re putting the volume at 75 plus is when others around you they’ll be able to hear it but, not to point where they’d need ask you to turn it down. Quiet areas like libraries you may want to keep at a lower volume around 60-65 is my recommendation. Plus Side: No amp is required Noise Cancelling does its job without fail Even though the cable is preparatory you can actually replace it for cheap that you can find on Amazon for iOS specific or regular usage.1 Very comfortable of wearing these for long periods of time. The headband\ ear cushions on the cans can be replaced and found on amazon for cheap. Things to consider: Not a very low bass range When the battery dies so does your music Expensive for a discounted productI had to sew the cushions on both side because the foam was getting out and now, the fake leather is getting slowly away, showing a cheap fabric below. Come on, Bose, synthetic leather, really. And, by the way, I had to replace them after 15 days because I heard a kind of metallic sound in one of the headset. And also, one day, it just stops working randomly but came back to life after few vigorous shakes. Now, it's still working after two years, but I take a really good care of them (except the shakes, lol). Comfort: good, in spite of the fabric which is disintegrating itself. Conclusion: this is supposed to be a high end product for 300 dollars (yes, you read well), and things are not working the way they should. If I bought a luxurious car, I would expect to have it working flawlessly for years. Don't have enough money for luxurious cars, but I can afford a luxurious pair of headphones, and look at the result !Over all, they have been a total workhorse and I am very pleased. I would purchase them again (if they weren't discontinued!). Mine are still functioning, and with the original cord. The ear cups started disintegrating after 3 years and I replaced them.https://creationstationdance.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c46cf17b6f---compaq-armada-7790dmt-manual.pdf The pleather cover on the underside of the headband is completely gone after deteriorating. Everything is still extremely comfortable. I always babied these by transporting them in their carrying case, and always take my time when putting them into the case (even when I'm in a hurry, knocking everything else about). Based on previous reviews regarding fragility, I've always worried about this headset, but the electronics have remained solid. Highly recommended. It's not until you take them off after having the noise cancelling switched on for a while do you realise just how much noise you are normally putting up with.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again My main reason for getting them was to attenuate the rumble and engine noise of traffic, and the QC15s are ideal for that. I would even say they are optimised for it, as there are certainly other sounds that they don't cancel as well. In general, the higher pitched the sound, the less effect the noise cancelling has. Tapping noises, voices, music, doorbells, squeaks and bleeps are all muffled to a certain extent, but sometimes little more than a tight-fitting pair of earplugs would achieve. Part of what makes them so effective, I suspect, are the soft, deep earpads, which completely cover and surround each ear. They are very comfortable, and I can and do wear them for hours at a time without any problems other than a slight heat buildup caused by the close seal around my ears. This quickly goes away if I take the headphones off for a few minutes. Like other over-ear headphones, they don't play well with spectacles. The pads press against the arms of the glasses, which press against my head, causing discomfort, as well as creating a gap under the earpad through which unwanted noise can creep in. So I leave my glasses off, or balance them inelegantly on top of the earpads.http://www.a-fairys-choice.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c46dd0553e---communigate-manual.pdf I was not expecting the audio quality to be outstanding, given the amount of processing the sound undergoes before reaching my ears. However, I was pleasantly surprised and enjoy using these headphones to listen to music and audiobooks. The QC15's ANC circuitry produces a slight hiss when activated, but this is very hard to detect when playing music. One problem: After a few weeks of use, I started getting an intermittent soft crackling in one or both earpieces. It has recurred a few times and seems to be getting more frequent, generally lasting several minutes and then fading away. After searching online, it appears to be a problem other users have experienced. This does sometimes work. Otherwise, I switch the headphones off for about 10 minutes, and when I try them again, the crackling has gone. If the problem continues to recur, I may put Bose's customer service to the test. Incidentally, I also own the Bose QC20i ANC earphones. Though impressive, I do not find them as good as the QC15s for comfort, audio quality or noise cancellation. However, this is just my personal experience, and it may be that the tips supplied with the QC20i are not an optimal fit for my ears. I have also used the Sony MDR1RNC Noise Cancelling Headphones. They have great build quality, but I found them to be heavier, less comfortable and significantly less effective than the Bose at reducing traffic noise. UPDATE - After about 6 months of daily use, the earpad on one side split open along the row of airholes, revealing the foam padding. A quick call to Bose resulted in a new pair of earpads being sent out free of charge, which I have now fitted. Replacing the earpads has also signicantly reduced (but not entirely eliminated) the occasional crackling noises I mentioned, so I suspect there may be a connection there. Perhaps the noise is the sound of the foam moving or the airholes in the leather-like cover slowly splitting?Sorry, we failed to record your vote.BABYBASKETSONLINE.COM/userfiles/files/casio-edifice-efa-115d-1a1vef-manual.pdf Please try again I asked a colleague if I could try them out and he graciously allowed me to. One word.WOW! As soon as I turned them on, the hum of the air conditioning system simply disappeared, the music my phone was playing was clear, with well defined bass and treble sounds and superb differentiation across the whole audio range. I went home, looked round and bought these the same day. I have listened to everything from spoken word to a full brass band and the quality is remarkable, there is nothing I have heard that comes close. The best thing though is the noise cancelling. My work takes me into a noisy computer hall where there is the sound of cooling fans and air conditioning, we are supplied with ear plugs but I tried these with no lead. The effect was amazing, the level of noise I was getting even with earplugs just went, and I found I could have a conversation with the others in the data hall without having to shout to be heard. I just can't say enough to praise these, they are without doubt, the best headphones I have ever used.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again And this my friend is the best in its class no question asked. If you are after noise isolation and quality of sound then these ones will offer you all of that. Base could be a bit better but its balanced which is more important than having forced base. A few cons you cant just wear them around your neck and leave home for the train station or airport a bit uncomfortable due to their size. But when on the head they are very comfortable and you can wear them on long flights. Only if you want to sleep obviously they are over head so you cant just turn around and sleep on the flight while they are on in most positions.:) Please trust my look no further these are on a different class level that even (very tempting beats or Parrot Zik by Philippe Starck) trust me clarity of sound and frequency response is not even comparable. I was sold for Zik until i manage to try these with all others thanks to Currys Duty Free at Heathrow.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again They are not the loudest headphones you can get however the noise reduction is so powerful that you do not need to blast your eardrums to pieces in order to hear your music. These headphones only really come into their own when on a long haul flight. The aircraft noise almost completely disappears. And they are so comfortable you can wear them for hours on end. A really handy feature is that you can unplug the cord from the headphones and simply use them to take the ambient noise of the aircraft away and just go to sleep in silence. If you take regular trips on aircraft either long haul or short haul then you will LOVE these headphones and will never travel without them.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again A couple of stand-out competitors for the Bose QC15 were the Goldring NS1000 headphones, which were flat and lifeless, and the Sony MDR1-RNC. The latter of which were so 'bright' that they were 'shrill'. The treble attacks your ear-drums like lightning bolts, so much so that I couldn't wear them without flinching as soon as a hi-hat or cymbal was brought into the equation. Both of which delivered underwhelming ANC. It would block out some ambient nose, but not a lot of it. Although, these headphones sound great - I've never been a fan of Bose, their products are usually overpriced, over-marketed garbage which under-perform - but these are truly a great Bose product. What's surprising is, the sound quality is good, overall and they're not fatiguing. But the real cherry on top of the cake is the ANC. When you have music playing over these, you're literally transported away from the world around you. If ANC comes first (AKA, you travel a lot for work), and you can afford these, then I highly recommend them. If ANC isn't your highest priority, there are other headphones on the market which may suit your needs better. I've tested these extensively on De Havilland Canada DHC-8 and various other little prop planes, and other commercial jets alike, and these are excellent at blocking out ambient noise. My only gripe with these is the build quality. They feel like a Fisher Price toy, considering their price, they should be made of much higher quality materials - and not manufactured in China! - Although, the plastics probably owe a lot to their light-weight build, and probably lead to their increased comfort. They're great sounding headphones, coupled with class-leading ANC and are a great product. That leads to an average of 4 stars!Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again These are the only headphones I've experienced that actually do the trick. They work best in cancelling out static noise and will not work as well with voices. Still when listening to music, the masking effect will make other sounds less obvious. It will work well in making our world a little less annoying, and that alone justifies the premium price. The Cons: They look great on day 1, but a closer look reveals a mediocre build quality, especially considering the price tag. Ah, and the sound. Definitely OK for most applications, bass-heavy, and with a bit of a hiss, which is not really disturbing compared to what gets cancelled out. I think this could have been done, but would have revealed how middle-class the drivers are. With some Sennheiser models, you can turn off the noise cancellation, maybe because their designers have nothing to hide. Then again, when I'm in a noisy environment, even with better headphones I could never get a linear sound. Conclusion: I think this represents the state of the art in active noise cancelling technology in early 2013. Unfortunately it also represents the state of the art in profit maximising. Bose is very good at both parts. I still recommend these to all people who are as acoustically neurotic as I am. Whatever you pay for these headphones, you won't have to pay for beta blockers.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again They did indeed produce outstanding sound that blew me away but I had 2 major issues with them. Firstly they were very uncomfortable for me. I couldn't wear them for longer than 10 mins without my ears hurting and secondly they were asthetically very ugly. I exchanged them for these Bose Quietcomfort 15 headphones, and I am delighted beyond any doubt. They are seriously comfortable. I've just been out for a sweaty 2 hour walk with them and had no problems the entire time. I have to buy large hats for my head and have rather big ears and these are fine for them. They are easily adjustable for smaller heads too. When you put them on they take you to an isolated world of astonishing acoustic brilliance. I am by no means an audio expert, but I felt the sound quality was marginally better than the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II headphones. Asthetically they look the part. Refined, neat and tidy. The noise cancelling works even when not playing music and you can really hear them locking out the world outside. They won't do it 100 but perfect for life's background noises. They have 2 interchangeable cables, one with a mic and one without. They also have an aeroplane adaptor and a hard case for transport. A happy happy manSorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I was going to wrap these up and give him them to open on the day, but knowing what they are supposed to be able to do, I thought he would probably benefit using them before March. So I told him, he opened them and we gave them a trial in the house and WOW they are absolutely fantastic, the noise cancelling technology is fantastic and they are ever so comfy. He absolutely loves them, so Im happy.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I did have a sennheiser MM450 blutooth set but when they packed up after 12 months I decided to look for a new pair. The review I left for the sennheisers was incredibly negative and I still stand by it today (and had i known they would become faulty after only one year it would have been even more negative.) They had no oomph and the noise cancellation didnt cancel much noise. Which is why Im so impressed with the Bose. The noise cancellation on the bose is the real deal. Its mind boggling to think how they do it but yup it works. It doesnt cancel everything but from my experience whats left gets easily drowned out by whatever your listening to The sound is good as well, much better than the sennheisers. Negatives: Working out in the gym with these on is definitely a bit different. Theyre bigger than the sennheisers, but theyre comfier. However their size and the spongy foam dont allow your ears and head to breathe well. I guess ill have to get used to that and the suction effect and noise cancellation does have a wierd effect on my ears. But i noticed the same kind of effects using the sennheisers and I got used to it. I do feel a bit of a fool walking around with such large headphones in the gym, they are larger than i thought they would be but they do the job i bought them for. So its all mostly positives for me.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Slips into your travel backpack easily. Cons: - Does not auto turn off. I've killed many batteries by forgetting that this is on or falling asleep while using them. - Cannot be used at all without batteries (even without noise cancellation).Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again The 450s are essentially the same headphones with minor packaging differences. The noise cancelling is 'OK' if you can get a good seal around the ears, but for me they just don't quite sit right, and I'd get noise leaking in. Not ideal. A friend bought a set of these and I tried them out - SOOO much better. They are smaller than the Sennheisers, so fit my head better (still fit 'around' the ears rather than on them), so I get less noise leakage. And the noise reduction is MUCH better. I'll say that again; even if the sennheisers fit you perfectly so you got no noise leakage, the noise reduction on these would sound massively better. The only thing I have against these is that the headphone cable seems a bit spindly. The Sennheisers had a chunkier cable that will probably last longer, and an inline volume control. All in all these are a massive upgrade.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again They block out noises such as computer fans, traffic and air conditioning almost completely, even without music playing. They substantially reduce the distraction caused by talking, shouting, coughing, sneezing, etc., although without music they do not completely block these sounds. With music playing at moderate volume, pretty much all office noise is blocked. They are much more effective at excluding office noise than my Sennheiser PXC 250-II headphones, but should be considering the price difference. The sound quality (high subjective I know) is quite good to my ears. The bass response seems to go deeper than most headphones I've tried. I find them cormfortable to wear for periods of a few hours, because the ear cushions are soft and exert only small forces on the head. There is a slightly odd sensation of the air pressure within the earphones dropping when they are switched on, but I'm sure this is not actually happening.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Gobsmacked at how effective they were at making the jet noise disappear. So good we resolved to buy a second set for 'er indoors (should have bought 2 pairs in Oz. I've owned many headsets over the years.Only thing not included was a battery. Exceptionally pleased with this buy - as good as buying new.
