It's a tight fit and there's not much clearance, but if you lift the cover straight up, you'll be fine. It goes without saying that you have to unplug the power cord from the back of the device. BUT - why do the cds that come in simple cardboard envelopes e.g. from Germany, or South Africa (I'm in the US) usually not play when inserted and - in this last instance - then get stuck. Take unit apart and check for connection issues first, then look for a possible fuse, if none exist chances are it is in the power transformer, contact Bose for service.It will have all details.You can't get it from open electronic spare part market. You did not specify which bose you have, so I have told you of the most common problem with the bose 6 cd changers. If this is in one of the silver slimline type of units, it is very difficult to get them apart if you have not dome it before. The gear is also very hard to get to in the changer.You will need to take it to an authorized bose service center because bose does not sell parts to any service centers unless they are bose authorized.
