You can go into one and out of the other as needed. Keep in mind that as you do this, your impedance is cut in half. For example, MB4 at 8 ohms plus MB4 at 8 ohms will yield 4 ohms impedance. When you combine multiple bass loudspeakers with electronics, you can manipulate the bass energy to create directional bass. Hard reflective surfaces and domes can degrade intelligibility and clarity in a sound system installation. You can use bass arrays in the same way you use focused mid to high speakers such as those in the Bose LT product family. The Panaray MB4 loudspeaker can be used in a two-unit (2X) or four-unit (4X) endfire array using the correct number of loudspeakers and the Panaray system digital controller. For example: an endfire array would be used in a theater, where the goal is to direct the energy off the stage and onto the audience. Similarly, you could use a broadside array in a school gymnasium to direct bass energy onto the audience and off the playing area. The bass array settings for the Panaray MB4 apply only to that loudspeaker. Presets for these arrays are not available in the Panaray system digital controller II at this time. The impedance and EQ do not match particularly well and in general we recommend using B1s. Connect the Bass Line Out of the power stand to the input of the external power amp (that feeds the MB-4). In this case you should not connect any B1s to Amp 3 out of the power stand. Its impedance doesn’t match the power stand particularly well (although you can safely hook up 2 MB4) and the bass output you may get is probably similar to that of a single B1, which is about half the weight and half the size. It only took a couple of times comparing the ease of loading the B1 in the back of an SUV to the effort of lifting the MB4 over the same height to convince me the B1 is better suited to my needs. Most Bose products seem to work best when used as designed. The MB4 has a recommended eq depending on which panaray speaker it is combined with. You must have a panaray controller or amp with eq card to access those eq curves. The MB4 uses a 2 conductor cable so there is no information for the detection circuit. How important this is I really don't know, but there is more to the DSP than just impedence matching.
