Color: black This processing generates 5.1 audio from any 1- or 2-channel source, from old movies and TV shows to today's commercial CDs. And the Acoustimass module reproduces deep, resonant low notes while stationed inconspicuously almost anywhere in your room. The result? Riveting surround sound that seems to come from the cube speaker arrays, whether it?s the hypnotic whisper of rustling leaves or the pure power of a ferocious storm. In the Bose Acoustimass module, 2 down-firing drivers give you powerful performance for the lowest audible notes and effects. And proprietary Bose technology ensures that you hear with clarity the proper balance of deep lows from all channels for music and movies. Hide the module almost anywhere, even behind furniture, and all the sound seems to come from the small cube speaker arrays. Connections include digital and analog audio inputs and outputs for a range of ancillary components, with a choice of composite-video, S-video, or--with an optional accessory cable that connects to both the composite- and S-video outputs--480i component-video outputs, depending on your television. Our innovative, easy-to-use ADAPTiQ audio calibration system customizes sound to your room, delivering more of the emotional impact of movies, music, and sports. Digital 5.1-channel decoding and proprietary Videostage 5 decoding circuitry deliver a five-speaker surround sound experience from any source, even older mono TV shows and movies. Proprietary technology in the hideaway Acoustimass module delivers the clarity of pure bass reproduction down to the lowest frequencies, even at the loudest levels. Julie B. 4.0 out of 5 stars Thanks - I was able to revive my existing system with this!Right now I still have my Lifestyle AV28 for my main system. I'm writing this so people reading reviews get all sides of the story. Yes, products break or have defects. That's part of everything manufactured. Bose has always helped me work through my issues in the past. Happy Listening to anything you choose to go with! The compact nature of this system allows a used to use one small shelf for the main unit, and then the speakers can be positioned wherever you want and still deliver amazing sound. Setup is pretty simple, with a pictograph easily explaining the connections, and then a DVD that guides you through the last few phases. The climax comes when the system uses a special headset you wear in different locations that provides feedback to the system for automatic optimal sound delivery. I know, it sounds crazy, but is cool to have the system fine tune itself. Playing DVDs is pretty simple, but I wish the system allowed a faster fast forward scan. There is an adapter to allow the video output to be converted to a component output, which is better than an S cable, which is better than the traditional red, white and yellow jacks most people are familiar with. You just need a modern, high end TV that handles component input (like my Samsung DLP) to appreciate it. The surround sound aspect is awesome, and we truly enjoy watching our favorite DVDs with rich, realistic sound that can rattle the house if so desired. Music CDs come across as clear and sharp, and the bass driven from the subwoofer is convincing when needed.https://www.becompta.be/emploi/3l-diesel-engine-manual As far as listening is concerned, you can choose how many speakers you want to use, from 2, 3 or 5. The easy to use remote can control almost anything without a need for the TV screen menu, but that's wasy enough to understand once you get through the difficulties of the manual's technical instructions. Overall, I am very pleased, and look forward to many years of service from this system.I live in an inner-city part of Sydney and space is tight. I run two systems with Bose as HT also driving a Denon amp with a set of Krix Equinox speakers (these are an excellent audiophile quality Australian speaker). I shopped around and agonised over this purchase and I am completely convinced it was the best system for me. I am also a visual artist and have some experience with marketing, which brings me to a fundamental point about Bose that the self-professed audiophiles just don't get. There is more to a home theatre system than pure sonic accuracy. Aesthetics, expandability, ease of use and extremely compact design are legitimate and valuable considerations when choosing a home theatre system. Different buyers will weight them differently, but to argue that Bose is overpriced when compared to other products based on sonic accuracy alone is unfair and plain insulting to discriminating purchasers of their products. What other product has such discrete speakers, a single beautiful head unit, such easy setup, so few connections, and can drive a second system in another room easily with an RF remote. If these things are important to you, the Bose Lifestyle 28 is excellent value. Unbeatable. Finally, the sound from this system is amazing. There are certainly comparable sub-sat configurations, and if you want big speakers and a number of seperate components there is no question better sound can be had for less money. But this is not the value proposition from Bose, and there is no pretence on their part that it is.http://flexphysicaltherapy.com/images/bose-lifestyle-28-ii-manual.pdfEven if a DVD is encoded with it, you won't be able to access it on your television. This has turned into a very expensive mistake for me. The sound is fabulous; deep bass and great spacing. Region numbers. Region numbers are assigned to DVD players and discs according to where they are sold. Look for the region number marked on the carton or on the bottom of the media center. There are better sounding, more fully featured packages for one third of the price. Several heart attacks later, we came to grips with the price you see above. As with the 2.1speaker system, the product is reasonably good, but the price simply cannot be justified. We were much more impressed with the sound quality of this system than of the 2.1. The surround field was excellently utilized, with great three dimensional placement. Motorcycles and helicopters would sweep in from off screen and the sound would travel across beautifully. There were occasions when we found this transition to be a little hasty, but overall we were very pleased. Similarly, the quality and detail of the sound was stellar, particularly the mid and high ranges which had a great, liquid feel to them. The sound was refined and had a lot of clarity, as we'd expect from a sophisticated company like Bose.https://lakecountyoralsurgery.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c1027d4550---canon-eos-d5-mark-iii-manual.pdf Bass was one area that was a little lacking however. It was superior on this system to the GSX but was still lacking the punch needed to make a truly enjoyable movie experience. Even with an absolutely enormous sub-woofer, we weren't as engaged with the sound as we had been with other systems. Still, sound quality as a whole was above average with this system. You have two choices for connecting the system to your television, RCA or S-video. There is no component, no VGA, no DVI and certainly no HDMI. What Bose does is include a small adapter that will transform one component signal to either RCA or S-video, theoretically allowing such a connection. In practice however the transition only serves to lose signal quality. In the age of high definition panels and big screen televisions anyone with a decent setup absolutely must be running component cables at the very least. The difference between component and RCA is quite substantial and it is unforgivable not to include one, if not more, on a home theatre setup. We're certainly never watching anything through an RCA connection again, and we know most people with some education on the subject feel the same. Aside from our eyes, image quality was the primary victim of the lack of inputs. Running through RCA we found the DVD quality to be merely average when lined up against a basic alternative hooked up through component. RCA results in less clarity and a lot more aberrations across the screen and whilst the DVD player itself seemed to be above average it could not escape the limitations of this format. We also discovered the Bose was very restrictive in the discs that it could play. No copied DVDs would work at all, and even our region four Lord of the Rings disc was rejected, which is strange considering it has worked in every other player we have looked at. If you own multi-region discs, or backed up copies then this will definitely prove a problem.http://www.abvent.com/emailing/files/870a-g54-manual.pdf Not only is the system lacking with regards to inputs but its set of features leaves a lot to be desired as well. We could find no options for Dolby Digital, DTS or any sort of third party sound formats at all. We have never seen a home theatre system that didn't have a few of the basic Dolby modes (Pro Logic, Pro Logic II, EX etc) so it came as quite a shock to find them absent here. The system also comes with a calibration kit comprised of a DVD and microphone that works in unison to configure the system to suit your environment. While this kit was a nice touch, we still felt ultimately unsatisfied by the feature-set of this Lifestyle 28. Bose is consistently strong in terms of design and this model is no exception. Bearing a colour scheme and shape not entirely dissimilar to the Playstation 3, it will match a modern home entertainment setup. The speakers are tiny and entirely black and have a nifty but quite useless feature whereby the top half of the speaker can be twisted to a angle independent of the bottom half. We thought it was cool at first, but upon review we realized there really wasn't much use for it short of spreading the sound over a wider area. The subwoofer is similarly coloured and absolutely huge and you will need to take its presence into account when clearing a space for this system. We must also note that for some bizarre reason, the DVD player requires an external power supply just to operate properly. We've never seen a DVD player that needed this before; generally it happens for games consoles and a few other hefty electronics, but never a home theatre setup. It may not make a difference to many people, but the ugly and quite large black box will definitely get in the way.
