The stands are built solidly and look great with the speakers. The difference in sound quality after moving the speakers from a shelf to the stands was noticable, not so much with movies, but wow with music. These stands help Bose 301's shine! I just got these stands today. It only took about 15 miniutes to assemble them. They look very classy. Plus, they bring out the full potential of my Bose 301s. They sound so awesome now. I wish I had ordered these the same day I got my speakers. These stands are designed to be sturdy for secure placement of your bookshelf speakers. If you do move them with the speakers on top, then be sure to hold the stands from underneath the speakers. I have found the ideal desired location for placement of the speakers so I rarely have o move the stands and speakers. With smaller bookshelf speakers, these stands would work just fine. I stripped two of them while assembling the set and cannot get them out. They sit above the height of the speaker plate. Short of cutting them off with a hacksaw, I am pretty much screwed. I ended up putting clear rubber risers on top of the base to elevate the speaker enough so that it sits above the exposed screw heads. I read this was an issue before I bought them so I was very careful in threading and tightening the screws and still had this issue. For this price, you would think they would include hardened steel screws or use a larger thread bore.Very sturdy. Easy to assemble. Installation guide included.Look very nice also the base is. I am nintyone years old and I have gone through I should think ten pairs of speakers over the years even making my own cabinets and none have surpassed the Bose 301's. My amp. is a Arcam Delta 90 and the rest of my setup is as follows. Thorens TD 521, A T OC9 cartridge and A T arm Nakamichi Dragon tape dech, an old panasonic CD player and my old friend of of 38 years the Revox B77 mark 2 reel to reel and a Revox B261 tuner. I use a stereo yamaha RN500 to power them and they sound amazing. No need for a subwoofer because the bass is really deep and low. You just can't deny the goodness of the sound. I highly recommend these speakers. I had the series IV and bought these ones for upgrade. I wonder what the next series would look and sound like. Thank you Bose. They replaced my 301s. The 201s are outstanding and I would not buy any other brand of speaker. When someone mentios the word speaker Bose comes to mind. They are an excellent bookshelf speaker. The range is dynamic and faithfully reproduce the whole sound spectrum of whatever you might listen too. I listen to most types of music and I can say that these speakers are a pleasure to hear.
