Brian K. Streb 1.0 out of 5 stars Returning in in the morning, Black unit came with white wireless control unit. No antenna wire. No manual. No paperwork whatsoever in the box. Plugged it in. Lights do not come on. Only radio works, barely. There is no CD player in front of unit as shown in picture on Amazon page. Wireless control does not operate any CD functions. I am VERY frustrated and disappointed!Delivery was on the day it was supposed to come, and you would be hard pressed to tell it from new - it carries the full factory warranty. I'm not satisfied, I'm thrilled!I do not fall into the latter category. I find the print difficult to read because of the font size. I was very surprised to discover that this radio cannot be used WITHOUT the remote. BOSE must have had a very good reason when designing this item, but I can't imagine what it was. I have 4 component stereos in the house, all of them much more costly than this little stereo. But I wanted to replace the component system in the bedroom with something smaller. We just used the component system to play CDs and didn't need anything fancy. I wanted good sound without a big footprint. A friend had this player and really liked it. I stayed in a hotel room that had this unit and was very impressed. So I bought it. I am very impressed. I suspect this is to help fill the room. A few feet away from it and it sounds great. The unit is compact, the sound is fantastic for something this size, it doesn't vibrate, the bottom is padded to protect furniture, the remote is easy to use. There are, of course, certain limitations--though the sound fills the room, it still essentially coming from a single point, unlike a multiple speaker system. This should be obvious. For what it is--a compact, table top music source, it sounds great. Some folks mentioned the lack of buttons on the unit. The only button I really miss is the 'eject' for the CD. I'm not thrilled with having to buy another remote, but they are cheap and it's not a big deal. I did research other options by other vendors, but I didn't feel anything else quite had the handsome appearance this player does. Plus BOSE has great support you can even bring your unit to a Bose store. try it. you can always return it.But being so small I didn't think it would put out so much bass. I wish there was a way to adjust the bass output. It's really too much in my apartment. Kind of silly that a high end piece of audiophile equipment like this doesn't have a some sort of equalizer or way to adjust the sound. Have had it for several years and it's still working fine. I usually leave it on for several days to weeks at a time on a classical or jazz (less bass than rock) radio station when I'm out of town. No issues.She loves it. Setup was easy. All I had to do was plug it into the Bose Link port. Since this external adapter can only pair one Bluetooth device at a time, I had to turn the Bose on, then press AUX to cycle it to Bluetooth. Once there, I pressed the 5 button to make it discoverable. Since it remembers the last device I paired, I did not have to make it discoverable again. However, if I wanted to pair a new device, I had to press the 6 key until the unit beeped (about 10 seconds) and then it would clear the Bluetooth memory and become discoverable again. One negative I did see with the external adapter is that the volume is about half that with Bluetooth enabled. What I mean by this is that a volume of 30 on the radio sounds like 15 when paired with Bluetooth. I found that I had to double the volume when using this adapter. In summary, it works even if it is a bit cumbersome to get use to and the volume requires an increase.I can not believe that a company that has a good reputation and a dedication to technical expertise would sell a product that is completely obsolete in less than two years. NO OPTIONS?? My options is to abandon Bose products and seek other companies to patronize. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE AN iPHONE 7!!!I had my iPhone, my computers (both desktop and laptop) and tablet up and running in no time. Just plug the Adapter into your Wave II or III system (note: read the instructions carefully that comes with the unit, the Wave II and III systems set up slightly differently). The Adapter doesn't have a power chord, it gets its power from the unit. That in itself is great and no need for yet another device plugged into your outlets. All of my bluetooth enabled devices discovered the Bose Adapter easily. The Adapter memorizes 6 device settings.more than enough for what I needed. I probably didn't have to, but a few folks who purchased the bluetooth adapter mentioned that they had a few problems with installation on their computers with Win 7 on their reviews). As far as my tablet, my Toshiba Thrive recognized it immediately and had that operating in less than a minute. I have the Bose Wave III system. When I heard Pandora,Spotify and other music sites from my computers and my iTunes from my iPhone over the those Bose speakers, I was blown away. The sound is as incredible as the CD's that I play on the Wave III system itself. You too, will enjoy the great Bose sound you get from your devices compared to the inferior speaker systems on your devices. Finally, one more tip for the non-techie people like myself: If playing music through your computer, you will need to change a couple of settings on the computer itself. First, make sure that the computer setting is set for bluetooth (go to control panel,systems and security,then change to allow bluetooth devices). The other is make the Bose sysem as your main speaker output for your computer. To do that, go to control panel, then devices and printers, then change the speaker setting on your computer to the Bose system instead of the speaker default. If you don't change that setting, it won't play on your Bose. To do that in Windows 7, simply go to your control panel, click hardware and sound, then manage audio devices. You can change your playback device to the Bose system there. If you love your Bose system as much as I do, why just hear your CDs and the radio on them when you can use the Adapter to connect up to 6 of your audio bluetooth devices to it and enjoy that great Bose sound on all of them!Ridiculous, especially considering the price.It plugs into the boselink connection in the back and that's the only connection you need. Syncs with our MacBooks, iPads and iPhones perfectly. Takes a couple of seconds and off you go. Sound is good. The sound level is a little lower so you will have to go up in volume, but the sound quality is great. Easy set up. We've had no issues with range. Thanks. I lifted the bottom up to take out the cd, and now i can't insert a cd into the player. Have you had any success yet? After removing the five screws, flip the device right side up, then simply lift the cover off. It's a tight fit and there's not much clearance, but if you lift the cover straight up, you'll be fine. It goes without saying that you have to unplug the power cord from the back of the device. With the cover off, it's easy to follow how the CD is going into the machine and being ejected. In my case, there was just enough friction during the loading process to prevent the device from pulling the CD into the caddy completely, but I found that if I tapped the CD as it went in, this overcame the friction. I left in the screw nearest the back to safeguard alignment. Grabbed the one of the two cd's I had forced in. When I turned on the unit again it smoothly ejected the properly loaded disc. It would not budge even when using small pliers. Thought What now? So I plugged the power cord in. CD tray came to life, and I was able to remove the disc. Reassembled the Bose, and tried another CD(original ruined). Played, and ejected faultlessly. I have been using it for a few yrs. now. I was in a panic that it was broken !!
