Now if you have used soundtouch stuff you will know it is not always as seamless as Bose would have you believe, sometimes the app can't find your speakers (especially if you have 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi) and unlike all the other soundtouch products if the app can't find it you have no other way to control the amplifier. Closing and restarting the app does usually find everything again but you can't do that while trying to answer the phone. I bought this knowing about the odd soundtouch connection problems and i'm sure as new firmware and app updates happen then Bose will get to the bottom of this but is am a convicted Bose addict and have 9 different Bose items in the house now i would probably have bought this regardless. SoundTouch products use the SoundTouch app, while the Bose Home Speaker family uses the Bose Music app. However, Apple device owners can use Apple AirPlay 2 to group the SoundTouch SA-5 amplifier with Bose Home Speaker family products for multi-room synchronised playback. The sound is awesome; Bose clear and crisp WITH bottom end. Produces plenty of sound for small to medium sized rooms. I've run them on battery for at least 4 hours with power to spare. I was practicing in my studio with a friend last week, 2 electric guitars, 2 voices, drum machine and was surprised when I realized that the F1 I thought was teamed with the S1s was MUTED. LOTS of sound volume and clean and clear response. One of these is truly wonderful. Two of them are Awesome. The Best sound I know of - and they fit easily into my 2 seat sports car with all the rest of the gear.Giving the widest listening area (nearly 180 degrees) and the most consistent tone.
