I can't even tell that it's not hard wired because the sound quality is the same as in my previous house. I can't express enough how thankful I am that I remembered that Bose made this product. It truly saved me a lot of work.The assembly was a breeze. I love the fact you can hide the transmitter and receiver out of sight and they still work. I live in an apartment and it is perfect for that. I didn't have to run speaker cables across my living room floor.Only downside, is venders that have them are aware of this and over charge for them and for this reason I purchased two sets as back ups.I am using an Acoustimass system. THIS add-on system was the total solution to my problem. No construction or structural alterations necessary. Sound quality is exactly the same as when the rear channels were hard wired.
