I was disappointed in the mounting system, it's now plastic and not ceiling mount (old speakers were suspended from the bottom of the eve, these had to be mounted on the back of the house).I replaced the ones I had been using with these and was very disappointed in their performance. They do use less power from my Pioneer receiver than my old speakers but I was expecting better sound. I have mounted them horizontally and vertically. The vertical position sounds a little better but I was expecting a better quality sounds. This is an enclosed back porch 20’ by 32’ with the speakers 16 feet apart. Bummer!!! Update: I have reconfigured my whole system with a new amp that has built in selection for speakers A and B thus having me remove a speaker selector switch and my old AP640 speakers still sound better than these Bose speakers.I should have read more reviews prior to this buy. Really there is no bass on these. The sound is clear, high fidelity as expected from a bose speaker, good mids and highs, but for the price range, I bet I could have gotten better sounding speakers. They lasted a few months and then began to sound terrible. Apparently they are NOT weatherproof and water gets into the speakers and they sound distorted. Contacted BOSE and sent them in for warranty service. They replaced all of the speakers in each enclosure and returned them to me. They lasted less than a year. These speakers come with a 5 year warranty, BUT once you have them repaired that warranty is reduced to 1 year from the repair date. So I lost 4 years of warranty. After the second failure, I again called BOSE and after much negotiation and several complaint escalations they agreed to replace the speakers, but the new speakers would only not come with ANY warranties and they assured me that they would not replace them again.Within the Bose ecosystem, a good value. They appear to withstand the elements pretty well so far. I have them installed under my awning. You can install them vertically or horizontally which is nice -- but note for the Stereo Everywhere feature they must be installed horizontally. The actual install brace is super easy to put up, unlike other speakers I have dealt with in the past. Everything you need for installation is in the box, except the speaker wire and amp and source.I installed these speakers just a few months. I installed these speakers just a few months ago and one of them is already packing up, so I will have to replace them. That in itself is not a bad thing because I have been completely unimpressed with the quality of these speakers. Please try again I have my amp connected to a Sonos system and I wired the speakers to the amp so I could incorporate that into my Sonos system. I have a second set of speakers running off of the other channel from my amp so in order for the Bose speakers to sound good outside I had to crank the bass on the equalizer which then puts too much bass into my other speakers. So it’s a bit of a pain to have to adjust the equalizer every time for the outside speakers. Once the bass is cranked then the speakers sound quite good.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. So I bought two more and again perfect sound should last another twenty years and I live near Galveston Tx.I like them so much I bought another pair for my Back porch now I can have all four on or just the two. I love them excellent product I live in Las Vegas, while just about everything else I have purchased (patio chairs, solar lighting, umbrellas, BBQ pits) that is outdoors have suffered the effects of the desert sun in the summer and had to be replaced. Not the Bose 151's and they sound quality is incredible. I've been tempted to bring them inside because they sound a lot better then my non Bose speakers in my house. Great job Bose.
