Yes, these are pricy. All bose products are somewhat overpriced. However, these are the most comfortable headphones I have ever used. Soundwise, I know of no headphones I've ever used that sound better than these. AND, they clearly sound better than any of the Bose noise cancellation models that are twice as much. The pads are extremely soft and the cloth headband is sufficiently supple. They can heat up a bit over time but are still very easy to wear for long stretches.
