An additional benefit of Bose TriPort headphone technology is that it helps reduce headphone size without sacrificing performance, resulting in a total weight of only five ounces. TriPort headphones put it all together: high-performance sound, comfortable fit and stylish design in one affordable audio experience.Amazon calculates a product’s star ratings based on a machine learned model instead of a raw data average. Atlantic Beach, FL 5.0 out of 5 stars We've ordered new ear muffs as needed and easily installed them. Sound is excellent and the design minimizes interference of other sounds in the house. We've also had the noise cancelling headphones, but you have to remember to turn them off or you go thru batteries. We prefer this design. The sound quality is excellent, they are very comfortable for long periods of time, and they are lightweight. They make a nice seal around the ears that really reduces outside noise and this has the added advantage of not needing the top bar pressed against your hair to make them stay on your head. They also come with a long cord, an important feature when trying to use them in a larger room for, say, watching movies. The other reviews all warned about durability but I've owned these for nearly a year and have shoved them into a cramped briefcase every day and nothing has worn or broke. I'm not sure how much more durable you can get than that. The only downside to these headphones is the relatively high price but I think you get quite a bit for the money. Overall, this is an excellent pair of headphones and worth the price tag.Superb Sound I have tried and used extensively many different brands of headphones from various companies (Senn's, Sony, Koss, and so on).http://www.hospvetcentral.pt/site/upload/bosch-wvf-2401-manual-download.xml I also have several Bose models, including the on ear ones that came out after these. Yes, these are pricy. All bose products are somewhat overpriced. However, these are the most comfortable headphones I have ever used. They give your ears really good clearance, fit well, without a too tight spring crushing your skull or a not tight enough skill to remain on while sealing enough to get the base response. Soundwise, I know of no headphones I've ever used that sound better than these. AND, they clearly sound better than any of the Bose noise cancellation models that are twice as much. (They also do decent job of passive noise cancellation.) If I am listening to music for pure enjoyment, these are the ones I grab. As for the reviews saying they are flimsy, that has not been my experience at all. In fact, these seem so well made that I have trouble understanding such a comment. They seem very sturdy to me, and they have been used A LOT, including for travel, just put into my briefcase without anything around them to protect them. If you like great sound and are going to wear headphones for long periods of time, I do not know what product out there can beat these. Have also given a pair to my niece (who loves them). These are so good.Only reason they're discontinued is because they were upgraded to AE2 models with removable wire and smaller cups. Sound is absolutely the same, though. Arrived in timely fashion and were just as advertised.Actually I bought two pair, one for work and one for home. I actually got my wife to try them and she likes them very much when listening to music on her iPad. Excellent sound and light weight so you can wear them all day (work).I wouldn't have noticed had I not owned 2 of these before ordering this one. The reason the leather was plucked-off I'm sure is because it falls off and makes them look old, no matter how hard you try to take care of them.I had 1 pair already (purchased many. They were lost and I recently wanted some new cans.http://schlammatlas.de/en/node/15959 Tried many different models but ended up buying these again. Still some of the best quality, most comfortable headphones out there. Almost perfect. Deducted 1 star because they could be more robust, but I cant complain about the sound. These markings indicate the proper position (L for left ear, R for right) to ensure proper fit and performance.Do not blow air into or vacuum the ports or the ear cups. Use a clean, damp cloth to remove dirt or smudges from the various headset parts. Do not sit on or allow the headphones to be immersed in water. For information on the QuietComfort Acous- tic Noise Cancelling headphones, contact Bose Corporation at 1-800-637-8781. From outside the United States, call 1-508-766-1942. The headband seems to be the only metal bit and even that’s noticeably thinner than the one on the cheaper Maxell DHP-II. The plastic forks don’t inspire a whole lot of confidence, either. Pulling the pads aside slightly leaves unpainted plastic and the internal wiring in plain sight. Luckily, the strain reliefs are long and flexible so the thin and plasticky cabling is not too likely to go wrong. The unusually long cable is terminated with a 45-degree 3.5mm plug. The pads are extremely soft and the cloth headband is sufficiently supple. They can heat up a bit over time but are still very easy to wear for long stretches. Unfortunately, they don’t isolate as much as the harder-clamping memory foam pads of the JVC HA-S700 and Equation EP3070 but are still usable outside. Overall sound leakage is low. There is a bit of bass boost but the low end is hardly overblown.http://apartments-ivica.com/images/bose-tp-1a-manual.pdf While it rolls off quickly past about 35Hz, the bass is punchy and fairly well-controlled next to bottom-heavy sets like the Maxell DHP-II, which is noticeably deeper and more powerful but also sounds boomy and overly full next to the Bose. In contrast to so many other consumer-oriented sets I’ve come across, the Bose errs on the thin side when it comes to note thickness and has a brighter overall tone. Even next to the HD25-1, the Triport sounds a bit trebly, which accentuates the already-decent clarity of the drivers. There is a bit of unevenness at the top end but the treble is relatively controlled and none of the peaks are particularly sharp. The treble extends surprisingly well but does lack a bit of texture overall, which gives the Triports a glassy, shimmery sound. The Maxell DHP-II, which is significantly darker in tone, is both smoother and more textured than the Triport. While its sound is not as energetic and lively as that of the Bose, it is also a bit less fatiguing for prolonged listening sessions. Neither headphone is a model of neutrality but for different flavors of highly colored sound, they work well enough. The drivers of the headphones are angled to make the earcups more compact and the resulting imaging just doesn’t work for me. Certain things are positioned way too far towards the rear of the sonic image, causing the Bose to lack sufficient forward projection. A lot of the time it is quite forward, which works fairly well with the energetic sound, but then the positioning of some cues is exaggerated to create a false sense of dimensionality, which can be unsettling with familiar recordings. Interestingly, they sound a bit more realistic if I unseal the earcups and angle the drivers closer to the standard orientation in relation to my ears. The headphone does offer superb comfort and decent isolation from external noise but is let down by the mediocre build quality and sound that doesn’t quite cut the grade for the steep MSRP.http://www.thelawchamber.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c5dcc217bc---8564ec-user-manual.pdf For such an oft-maligned model, however, the AE1 has surprisingly good clarity and better overall balance than the Beats by Dre, the dreadfully bassy Klipsch Image One, and a multitude of other consumer-oriented cans. In fact, I prefer the balance of the Bose to that of the Marshall Major and Soundmagic P30, as well as host of other sets more or less well-liked around Head-Fi. The downsides are the sonic coloration, which results mostly from the bright treble and mediocre texture, and strange positioning tendencies, which likely result from the angled drivers. All in all, the Triport is not exactly hi-fi and even at the current, reduced prices it is possible to do better for the money when prioritizing sound quality. He spends much of his time listening to music and occasionally writes portable audio reviews across several enthusiast sites, focusing mostly on in-ear earphones. Read on to find out how the Bose Triport performs when put to the test. The padding placed around the speakers enable you to wear the headphones hour upon hour without a feeling of discomfort, which isn’t typical of many over-the-ear headphones. A drawstring carrying bag is provided with the package. It fits the headphones well and makes them easy to carry but headphones are, by nature, much bulkier than in-the-ear headphones. This makes the Bose Triport difficult to throw in a school bag or briefcase without compromising a lot of space or worrying about them breaking. For starters, these headphones are designed to direct sound into your ears instead of onto your ears (given they are worn correctly). The three drivers inside of the headphones are angled to align with your ears providing more natural sound delivery. This isn’t typical of most over-the-ear headphones. In addition, the cushioning on each ear cup encircles your entire ear providing great insulation from exterior sounds even without active noise reduction. If enough pressure is applied, the cups will break off. In addition, the metal strips inside of the plastic adjustment strips have been known to dig into their plastic encasing and, after enough wear and tear, eventually cause the plastic encasing to split in two. Luckily, Bose will stand by its product and has no problem replacing your headphones under warranty should it come to that. In addition, a 5 foot extension cable is provided but not necessary for most uses. Bose also provides a A? inch stereo phone adapter. A simple drawstring carrying bag is included to house the headphones and its accessories. Our only reserve as far as the wiring goes is that it seems a bit thin when compared to other headphones of its class.Their design is engineered to maximize the sound direction and minimize exterior sound interference.http://www.siscard.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c5f2ee1e4c---85650a-manual.pdf Nonetheless, certain crucial aspects of the headphone housing itself have been neglected leaving further room for improvement in durability. Let’s see how the Bose Triport headphones behave with sound. This is the most important aspect when deciding to make a purchase. The Bose Triport integrates three drivers (the “Tri” in Triport) each designed to deliver a specific range of sound from low, mid, to high. We’ve already discussed the angled drivers in the above section but how well do the drivers themselves cover the sound spectrum? Sometimes the high frequencies may become difficult to bear if the volume is set too high. The lows are clean and definitely audible but the Bose Triport do not provide the full level of bass often desired. Even though Bose claims that these headphones eliminate the necessity for artificial bass boosting, you will find yourself tweaking the bass settings on your MP3 player or receiver a little to fulfill your needs. We found that testing the TriPort’s with electronica music we often encountered a “distant” soundstage almost like you were listening to a concert from a block over. In contrast some of the music we played back featuring vocals sounded very natural and crisp. Typically this distortion will be heard in the lows before anything else. Nonetheless, the non-distorted audio supported offers more than enough sound volume to suffice, at least before your eardrums begin to go out. We had no problems drivint the TriPort headphones with an Apple iPod. If your MP3 player has a weak integrated amplifier, expect to hear distortion when turning the volume up. A Surround sound feel was very true giving a feeling of immersion during the movie. Not a sound throughout the movie was missed. The best thing is that the movie could be fully enjoyed without bothering nearby company. Unfortunately, the low frequencies lack when compared to other headphones in its class but the mids and highs remain among the best.http://www.uvhk.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c5ddc3c1e6---8565a-manual.pdf For those seeking comfort, the Bose Triport is among the best. In fact, you may find yourself forgetting you have headphones on sometimes. While the sound output is crisp and clear, the Triport may not be for you if you’re a bass fanatic. Nonetheless, these headphones are definitely worth checking out. You won’t be disappointed. If you are looking for over-the-ear headphones with true portability featuring a folding mechanism, we would recommend the Sennheiser PXC 250 or PXC 300.
