I also have some AE2 headphones which I'm pleased to say perform faultlessly, on the strength of these two products I purchased the Companion multimedia speakers, they were quickly connected to my PC without any problems and yes the sound reproduction is as I would have expected.excellent. They look very good either side of my all in one PC. Can't really find a fault, other reviewers have remarked a LED on off indicator would be a worthwhile addition, I prefer not to have too many illuminations whilst working on the PC and listening to my music, so for me the lack of an operation light suits me fine. I would recommend these speakers, and hope that in many years they perform as well as they do now. Thanks for reading. So when my previous speakers suddenly and inexplicably died I though I'd splash the cash and buy a pair of Bose speakers. I waited to be impressed. They are no better then the Creative Sounds I had before, in fact a little less capable if Im honest. Most annoyingly, there's no light to indicate that the rotary knob on the front has been turned or left 'on'. Overall, sadly over-priced and under-delivering.With the matte black finish it pairs perfectly with high-end office peripherals e.g., like your all too expensive monitors. Versus the competition, it's a plus - not as hipster as Gigaworks or out-of-place like Logitech Z600. Sound: now this is probably what most people care about. Let me cut straight into it - it's not as good as I expected. Coming from a Bose Companion 2 Series II like some other reviewers here, the sound appears a bit muffled and unclear upon first plugging into my computer. I can only hope that this will improve over time as they go through the breaking-in period. That is something different but these speakers really do deliver in sound if you want to listen to Music on your PC. I always think you get what you pay for and I love these speakers.I will definitely get my money worth from them.I was so pleased with the sound. Then I went away for a couple of weeks. When I came home I turned them on - nothing, not a sound, silence. My son came to look in case I was doing something wrong. No, I wasn't. He went and bought me a new power pack. He plugged it in and the light came on. It didn't stay on. As soon as I turned the speakers on the light went off. These speakers I was so chuffed with had blown two power packs. I would have sent them back but when I moved house before Christmas I had thrown all my packaging away. No box to return them. I have bought myself a very cheap set of speakers just to see if there is any other reason for my Bose speakers not to work. No, these work fine. The sound is not anywhere near as good, but they work. Really disappointed. I won't say don't buy these, but please keep the packaging! My Cambridge Soundworks system is more than 15 years old and starting to show its age (though still sounds great). This Bose Companion 2 Series III Multimedia Speaker System looked good, both from a price point and value for money. Easy to set up and simple to use, it was ready to go within half an hour - and back in its box before the clock struck one. It sounds boxy, lacks true bass, is flimsy and occupies more desk space than it can justify. There are better speaker systems off the shelf at Home Bargains - and at a fraction of the price. Oh Bose - whatever happened to your reputation.Really discernable difference in sound quality, its fabulous. I would prefer a longer speaker to speaker cable - at 1.8 mtrs (factory given length), It is not a long as I would like for a tidy installation going round my desk corner, I daresay I could order a longer one if I wanted but to give a 2.5 or three metre cable would be fab. Overall I am very very happy, its the sound quality which is what the product is all about. Right Now, I would definitely buy again. I looked at the more expensive speakers but more than double the price, whether its double the sound quality is debatable. Happy Days listing while working! Sorry, we failed to record your vote.
