At low volume, like for sleeping, it sounds really nice but you can also crank it up and fill the whole house with sound. The new design is really sharp looking as well. Only complaints are the fact that it doesn't have any controls on the unit, everything must be done from the remote other than turning it on and off and the fact that it doesn't fade the volume in and out when turning it on and off like the older models did. Neither of these are show stoppers though.Perfection! Yes, more expensive than most but I've found that in this case for sure, you get what you pay for. I do agree with many reviewers that, although the power cord serves as an external antenna, many people need an extra antenna for receiving better reception or more stations. I do receive a few stations perfectly but I know that if I purchase an antenna I will receive more stations. For the price of this radio I think Bose should have included an extra antenna. I think I will go ahead and order one now. Even with this one minor complaint I still give this radio 5 stars.I've tried several inside antennas without any success. While the sound is good with external devices connected--the radio is crap. Don't waste your hard earned money. We live in a very remote area, but the Bose has no trouble at all bringing in our one station.
