Designed to work both independently and together, the pair comes with a built-in detection system. This technology lets each one identify whether another speaker is nearby. The two speakers will then work together to deliver the audio quality that you crave. This technology keeps the pair from overwhelming your ears while delivering exceptional sound. With dual inputs, you can actually connect multiple devices together. Bose added this feature to its speakers for those who like playing games or sharing multimedia with others. Multiple laptops or desktops can actually share the computer speakers. You can also use that feature when filming a game you play online or talking with a loved one. Once you plug other devices into the inputs, the speakers will automatically detect those devices. You can even hook up a mobile phone or a tablet. Sleeker and more compact in size, these speakers are great for small spaces. The pair won't take up too much space on your desk. You can use each speaker separately or use them together. You can even use one in a different room to extend your reach. Though each one measures just 2.5 inches, they deliver big sound and amazing quality. MediaMate models also come with a standard jack. This 0.125mm jack accommodates most styles and models of headphones. You can plug in a pair for late night gaming while the kids or your roommates sleep. The volume control that Bose included works with your headphones, too.Bose added a control dial on the front to the MediaMate model. This dial gives you full control over most features. You can use this dial to adjust the balance between connected devices. Not only can you send more volume to your computer, but you can change the balance between the two speakers.http://www.peplex.it/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c37d542fbd---a-camera-in-manual-mode-means.pdf This helps you achieve the perfect balance when listening to music or while playing a game. Shielding added by Bose does a good job of reducing interference and feedback. Made from a type of magnetic material, the shielding actually blocks the signals of other electronics. Thanks to a large internal enhancer, you can also enjoy improved sound when using mono devices.Everything that you need to install these computer speakers is included. Bose provides MediaMate series users with audio cables and a power pack. That pack powers the speakers and snaps off when needed. With the included cables, you can easily hook yours up to a computer or stereo. You also get removable rubber feet that attach to the bottom of each speaker to keep it from moving. Bose even includes an instructional manual that acts like a guide. This manual walks you through the installation process and provides some troubleshooting help. You'll also find out how to change the bass level and download software updates. They appear to be the predecessor to the Bose Companion 2 speakers. You can also use for your computer and mp3 players, because there is a A and B on the rear (1) for computer and (1) for MP3 player. TheOracle1001 3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best i've heard, but they do sound good for desktop speakers. (What you would expect from Bose.) The blue metallic color looks awesome. I also like the dual input. I can connect both my computer and tablet at the same time. All of which would ideally make these speakers a 5 star. Now for the cons. I purchased these used and they did not come with the wall adapter. So I had to order one (and subtract one star). Note, this is more an issue with the supplier not the product. As for the product, the only thing I found annoying is the lack of a power button or way to turn the speakers off. I downloaded the product manual and confirmed there is no power button or way to turn the speakers off. Which means they are always on. This can easily be rectified by unplugging the adapter. For this reason I had to subtract another star. Oh, and did I mention they sound good?http://accurateverdicts.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c37dd8fe97---a-camera-manual.pdfI bought these speakers originally to supplement the pathetic sound on a Dell Inspiron laptop and have since moved them over to a desktop Mac EMac, and found them to be outstanding for both machines. However, I've also found them portable enough to move them over to our low-end TV when we wanted a big sound out of a DVD or a musical performance, over to an iPod, and off a digital camera to show off some baby videos. The independent volume controls and deep range on the speakers provide lots of flexibility in mixing in a variety of sources, and we've actually found the dual sound inputs on the back (there's an A to B mix switcher to allow simultaneous dual sound sources) to be quite useful. One can, for instance, hook up a connecting line from the stereo and use these as a second set of bookshelf speakers without unhooking it from the computer, and with a flick of the dial on the one speaker, change the mix between the two. As with most Bose speakers, the range and fidelity are excellent, and it is possible to turn the volume up too loud to the point of distortion, but (thus far) when we've done that there's no apparent damage to the speakers. In other words, for a pair of tiny desktop speakers, they provide more sound and volume than we really ever want or that the source can actually provide with any fidelity. I particularly like the slight angle to which these speakers are canted, as they point the sound sources towards one's ears. The RF shielding is outstanding; I have one speaker crammed right up against a traditional CRT, and I've never seen a quaver on the screen, nor has there been any noticeable distortion in the operation of a variety of electronic devices that get thrown into a space close to the speakers. My only quibble with the provided package is the length of the cables and power cable, a common problem for all the desktop arrangements; one does want to stretch the cables around an astonishing array of stuff sometimes.https://ceadersvalet.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626c37e4ba0f1---a-car-manual.pdf In any event, I rarely write reviews of electronics products, but I've been so happy with these speakers I decided to go ahead and make an exception. DVD's are more exciting (However, usually watch DVD's on my home theater). They are simple to install and attractive to look at. The sound is crisp and true. I still use them on my primary computer. If I have a computer set up where I can use surround sound I have a set of Klipsch speakers I use for that, but for the majority of the last 12 years, these have been my primary speakers.
