Political Letters to and from politicians, government agencies, and other organizations who put themselves in the game.

If you have a letter that you would like to be posted here, email a copy to us. Email it to Info at aFreeCountry.com.

We at aFreeCountry feel it is important to communicate with our elect representatives. We also want to make it as easy as possible for you to do the same. We have added templates that you may download and edit to add your name and address and your elected representative's name and address. You may alter these letters any way you see fit to communicate your ideas to your representatives.

You will find next to some of the briefs about the letters templates written in several file formats. Choose the one that best suits your situation. We use OpenOffice.org to write the letters and they are saved to the other program formats using this program. Therefore, some of the formatting may or may not be exactly as you need it. Saving the letters using your native program should correct any formating issues you may have.

It is imperative that you communicate with your elected representatives at all levels. They are always concerned about getting re-elected. If enough of you tell them what you think, they will listen. They will only do so if the numbers are great enough to give them concern. This works better when you have the mail delivered with a return receipt.

Open American Oil Stores and Cut Off Imports

This letter supporting the opening the Alaskan pipeline and other US based oil stores was written to the federal level representatives for northern Louisiana on August 15th, 2005. It was submitted through the web based form available through the representatives' respective web sites. It was submitted to Senator David Vitter, Senator Mary Landrieu, Representative Jim McCrery. I have yet to receive a response from these representatives and will post them as I receive them. I did get what appears to be an auto response from Senator Vitters office, but all it had was his header graphic and the closing. There was NOTHING in between.

I suggest all who read this use it as a template to write to your representatives.

Leaders of a U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs panel joined a chorus of outsiders, including many state government officials, who have questioned the costs and privacy implications of the congressionally mandated shift to identification cards that must adhere to a bevy of national standards.
