Anyways - hooked it up and installed the IPOD cradle (they include lots of different cradles) and the fit is verty tight and commes up high enough to avoid any movement or flex. It also has to plastic pins on the top that locks into the radio on the top to provide extra stability. Bottom line - NO wiggling to cause loose connections. 5 Stars on the structural design alone for IPOD cradle stability. All functionality works as advertised and the radio looks pretty cool with Dock and display. The phone works very well - better than my GARMIN blue tooth. Plus - you can max out the treble to 7 (and keep the base in the middle) and the phone audio isn't half bed. Please try again later. Terry Miller 2.0 out of 5 stars I was mainly interested in connecting via Bluetooth, and as it turns out, neither product hit the mark. While this unit beats the Pyle PLR27MPBU hands-down in style, the Bluetooth quality on both units was riddled with hiss, static, crackles, and pops at louder volumes (starting in the 20's out of 40 possible volume levels). I was able to speak to someone at Boss tech support, who said he had never heard of an issue with the Bluetooth sound quality and offered no remedy or troubleshooting. The fact that the Pyle and Boss are so similar in their design and functionality makes me wonder if they're the same cheap, Chinese product, just rebranded differently. After speaking with a car install specialist at a competing retail store, I ended up going with the JVC KD-R740BT, which is a bit more expensive, but whose quality is an order of magnitude better than the Boss or Pyle products, featuring more and better features, better and louder sound, and pristine Bluetooth functionality.Please try again later. I have heard before that boss radios are terrible but I read up on this one and it had some good reviews so I gave it a shot. When you are using the dock it is hard to get to any buttons on the right side of the dial since you have to squeeze your finger between the dial and the dock. The bluetooth phone connection sounds good but the person you are talking to won't be able to hear you good, I think it uses the iphones mic which is too far away to use correctly. The directions it comes with are a joke, it is like 4 pages. Any radio you get today you get a textbook of directions but this thing just comes with a flyer. All of this aside I probably would have still given this thing 4 stars and liked it but I could never get it to work. It would play for a few minutes or an hour but then would turn off and then back on like it was shorting out. Sometimes instead of doing that the volume would start to raise on its own or the speaker distribution would change on its own, or the stations would start searching. I would have sent it back then but I installed the radio and 9 speakers all at the same time so I thought I had a short and have a busy life so I slowly wen about taking out the radio or a speaker day by day until I verified that everything was wired correctly. Same thing if you're listening to radio and place the iPhone on the cradle: it switches automatically to IPOD input and starts to play. The iPhone goes to sleep when you switch the INPUT from iPod to something else on the unit. When wishing to use another app (navigation in my case) on the iPhone while listening to radio (for example) you need to reach back and activate the iPhone manually. Those and a few other quirks are something i'm not able to confirm if they are because of the unit or if the interaction with the iPhone just can't be made easier, but after a while it's tiresome. Also to note: it's been said multiple times already, but it's true that the blue glow (that can't be adjusted) is very, very bright in the dark. Sound: in my uneducated opinion the quality of the sound is a bit weak. Bottom line: for my specific needs i wanted to have a unit that combines iPhone integration and a cradle, for using just as much the music player than the navigation app, but this one is just too much hassle for that. I've still not found anything better for a similar product, so i'll just end up buying another unit with an iPod stuck somewhere hidden, and buy a normal cradle for the iPhone to be used separately. You just sync your phone to it. The Iphone does not have to be on the dock for it to work either. If you are listening to music and the phone rings, it overrides the music.
